Coordinator, ITS Operations & Access Management

What the Role Is

Reporting to the Manager, Technology & Security, the Coordinator, ITS Operations and Access Management is accountable for overseeing the service delivery operations and access management (including directory and devices) for London Health Sciences Centre, St. Joseph’s Healthcare London, and our regional partners, resolving or triaging over 11,000 client contacts monthly.

The Coordinator, ITS Operations & Access Management leads three separate teams, including the Data Centre Operations team, including after-hours ITS Help Desk, the Access Administrator team providing network account and access administration, and the Mobility team, responsible for corporate mobile phones.

This role is accountable for day-to-day department activities, including direct management of the team and material resources at all sites, during core hours Monday-Friday, including 24/7 support for Data Centre operations and after-hours Help Desk for the Stiller Centre and Parkwood Data Centres. The Coordinator is accountable for day-to-day staffing and scheduling, development and support of a healthy workplace, risk and utilization measurements, and facilitation of improvement initiatives and change management, while operating within approved operational budgets and financial guidelines and controls.  
 

The role provides an advanced level of consultation and guidance to the Operations and Access Management teams and serves as the communications link between the teams and the Manager. The Coordinator collaborates with peers across programs and external organizations and is the first point of contact for internal escalation.

What Skills Are Needed

  • Project Management experience
  • Experience managing Veeam Backups (job management, tape management, backup restore jobs)
  • VMWare Virtual machine deployments
  • Experience monitoring data centre environmental conditions
  • Vendor relations and management including participation in RFPs, managing quotes and invoices for emergency work (HVAC, UPS, etc.)
  • Equipment Lease management experience
  • Planning and executing action plans that deliver results and motivate individuals for greater performance excellence
  • Strong business acumen 
  • Values-based leadership and a proven track record for developing and sustaining healthy work environments and effective teams while leading in a performance-driven culture 
  • Lead and drive system transformation
  • Develop self and others through teaching, coaching, mentoring and formal development processes

What You Will Bring with You

  • Successful completion of a recognized baccalaureate degree program in a related field (e.g. Computer Science) or 2 year diploma in Computer Systems Technology
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in progressively more responsible leadership roles in a healthcare environment, preferably in an acute care academic teaching hospital
  • Minimum three (3) years’ previously related experience, preferably in a high-volume computer support environment
  • Fluent and computer literate with computer systems such as email and Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
