As the leader of our Content team, you will oversee the day-to-day content operations, contributing to the growth of our audience affinity for our brands across digital platforms including Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram and TikTok as well as our ability to share the Diply story with our audiences, our advertisers and our partners.

Proven experience leading a high performance social /digital entertainment content team using a keen sense of data backed intuition combined with category instincts to determine what will drive the highest levels of engagement with audiences

A history of success in leading daily operations for a critical function aka keeping the trains running on time plus experience leading at least 4 direct reports to success, including performance coaching and career development of staff that has led to former subordinates of yours being promoted, and this is a story you are proud to tell

A point of view to the role that informs your exceptional work in setting content standards that elevate our content product plus a firm grasp on journalism best practices and editorial style guides

Attention to detail in your delivery in the sense that you understand our content product is a direct reflection of you and your team

A reputation for being hungry, humble and awesome to work for in every sense; everyone knows you got this, and as a result, you are the department lead that is trusted to run operations with minimal supervision

Excellent, like, level 10 communication skills: proactive when it's bubbling, reactive when it breaks, ruthless until its fixed

A general understanding of how to apply digital marketing tactics to the ideating, packaging and distributing of social content and audience growth

About this role…

This role is responsible for leading our Content function, both in terms of  overseeing the day-to-day operations as well as driving the quality and effectiveness of the output of the Content team. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this role is responsible for developing a successful, cohesive content strategy and ensuring its effective execution across multiple content types (editorial, video, visual) as well as multiple social platforms. Performance in this role is measured based on content performance defined as a batting ratio, organic audience engagement on social, content-centric levers on monetization, profitable production volume as well as the morale and productivity of your team.

At this stage of our growth, we need someone who is ready to help us identify, test and scale production against opportunities for audience development through existing and new editorial formats including articles, videos and memes.

The successful candidate will know how to strike the ultimate balance between analysis and artistry, is able to grasp the data and use it to inform content-related decisions. Most of all, the successful candidate is ready to take on the opportunities and challenges this role presents, leading the Content function in a way that facilitates solid growth in our media brands and their value.

Diply has offices in both Toronto and London (ON) where the Content team is largely based. During this time, all staff members are working from home until further notice.
