RESPONSIBILITIES

• Realize the overall artistic vision of characters based on designs, concepts and descriptions
• Design, model, and texture high quality 3D characters, paying close attention to anatomical proportions and physiology 
• Collaborate with Art and Design leads to create technically sound, engaging and memorable characters 
• Work with Art Director to combine ideas and methodologies of character production to create an efficient, streamlined pipeline
• Mentor and train junior artists
• Multitask effectively, prioritize competing demands, and follow through on details

REQUIREMENTS

• 2+ years of experience creating characters for game development
• University degree in visual arts with specialization in graphic design, commercial art, graphic communications or cartooning OR completion of a college diploma program in graphic arts
• A portfolio that demonstrates excellent character modeling and texturing techniques, both high and low poly 
• An exceptional understanding of human and creature anatomy with a keen eye towards form, structure, and silhouette 
• Above average ability to model, texture, and light 3D characters for a state of the art next-gen game engine
• Excellent understanding of efficient techniques for game production 
• Strong lighting skills and experience creating normal maps and applying shaders
• Experience with Maya, Photoshop and ZBrush or Mudbox 
• Exemplary oral and written communication skills 
• Willingness and aptitude to learn new techniques and best practices
• Have a genuine enthusiasm and interest in video games

• Excellent understanding of efficient techniques for game production
