Position Scope & Accountability:

• Provides organizational leadership, typically with global responsibility, to managers, supervisors and/or professional technical staff

Management Responsibility & Functional Contribution:

• Oversees development of new applications or analysis and modifications in existing applications or solutions.
• Drives business results and ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented.
• Ensuring that Engineering is correctly resourced, and the software is delivered in compliance with CDK quality standards and committed deadlines.
• Ensures backlog grooming and decomposition / estimation of stories
• Execute the delivery plan ensuring committed delivery dates are met.
• Ensures a proper Workforce planning process is in place
• Ensures a quality process from research through product development, testing, and deployment to end users
• Ensures that all internal stakeholders throughout the organization are engaged and ready to contribute throughout each state of the value lifecycle, i.e. pricing, marketing, sales, contracting, install, training, customer service, billing, etc.

Problem Solving & Critical Thinking:

• Engages with Product Management to take in charge new developments and plan according to resources availability
• Monitor quality and performance levels through regular analysis of KPI statistics
• Undertake organizational reviews to ensure optimum utilization of local and regional resources, leveraging Offshore capacity as demand requires

Leadership:

• Undertake regular process reviews to ensure current best practice evolves in line with market and CDK trends.
• Provide ongoing performance and development reviews via THRIVE and provide training and salary recommendations to senior management
• Facilitate top-down communication to the team.
• Responsible for Associates’ engagement improvement
• Supervise the recruitment process

Collaboration/Relationship Focus:

• Collaborate with other department heads to provide technical expertise in support of operational objectives

Qualification/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of management experience
• Experience utilizing Agile and Scrum software development methodologies
• Self-motivated, change management attitude
• High: drive for results, collaboration, people focus, customer focus, accountability
• Demonstrable understanding of software engineering processes, including awareness of delivery requirements such as time and cost & an ability to recognize and manage performance with a focus on continuous improvement.
