Senior Manager, User Experience (UX)

Location: Within 2-3 hours travel by car or train from our London, ON office.

What You’ll Achieve

At Voices, our User Experience team puts strategy, research, design principles, and technical innovation at the center of everything we do. You’ll have a unique opportunity to build and grow the UX team, and work directly with product and senior management to deliver best in class experiences for our customers. 

You will be responsible for the workload management, hiring, well being, and professional growth of your design and research team members. You will help lead and grow our open and collaborative environment, and evolve design and research operations to further empower UX Management.

The User Experience department has a customer-centric view. They are pivotal in growing our customer base through engaging experiences. In this role the Senior Manager, User Experience will be looked to help lead our design vision, develop talent, inspire the team and ensure our customers always come first.

What You'll Do

• Be the advocate of users, communicating the value of empathy on all levels of the organization
• Structure the User Experience department to align the capacity to our strategy, while leading the charge of the Design team vision
• Create a customer-centric culture by listening to users and synthesizing their problems into plans of attack
• Be a Player-Coach Leader that can mentor and develop talent as well as direct work to inspire their team
• Partner with IT, Product Management and QA to build user experiences that are accessible, engaging, performant and well-engineered
• Oversee and be a leader for our user researchers and assist our research strategy and execution
• Work closely with senior leaders to influence a vision for the user experience that takes into account the needs of our users as well as the other functions in our organization
• Guide our approach to user experience to be informed by data insights and rapid experimentation which leverage A-B testing

Who You Are

• You are a UX design SME with 3+ years of direct management experience.
• You would be described as an inspirational leader with the ability to teach, mentor and coach a team of UX designers and researchers.
• 5+ years of experience as a UX designer
• 8+ years of UX design experience with SaaS products and web applications
• Deep experience with UX and User Experience Research (UXR) best practices
• Highly proficient in modern design/prototyping tools (e.g. Figma, Sketch, Zeplin)
• You possess effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to listen to understand.
• You are a data driven leader who knows how to capture, analyze and leverage insights to create exceptional customer experiences.
