Position Overview

Reporting to the Director, IT and Performance, the IT Manager is responsible for all aspects of the company’s computer systems and IT related maintenance. The IT Manager provides strategic, technical solutions for improving business operations.


Primary Responsibilities

Information Technology
  • Oversees the administration and maintenance of the company’s LAN and WAN infrastructure
  • Leads network security and support
  • Oversees troubleshooting, systems backups, archiving, and disaster recovery and provides expert support when necessary
  • Serves as main point of contact on all IT-related matters
  • Ensures access to systems is strictly controlled via process for managing employee accounts and network access  (create, delete, modify, passwords and security)
  • Oversees set-up & supports: Cellular / GPS/ Telephony
  • Leads hardware maintenance and support (PC / Thin Clients / Servers / Switches / Routers / Printers)
  • Manages process for all system upgrades
  • Manages radio equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
Purchasing & Budgeting
  • Builds and maintains vendor relationships and manages the purchase of hardware, software and services
  • Prepares and manages the IT budget
People Management
  • Directs the activities of staff, ensuring ongoing work quality and monitoring work loads
Operational Reporting and Strategic Planning
  • Analyzes operational processes and reports opportunities for savings and efficiencies
  • Identifies and provides standards for gathering information for use in trend analysis and reports information to management
Project Management
  • Represents IT department in major projects and ensures appropriate resources are allocated to achieve assigned components of the projects
  • Leads all IT projects
  • Contracts and RFP Review

Knowledge & Skill Requirements
  • College Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role
  • Advanced knowledge of Server and Client operating systems
  • Advanced knowledge of virtualized environments
  • Advanced knowledge of networking fundamentals
  • Recognized Professional Designation, CompTIA A+, MCSE
  • CCNA, CCNP, VCP certification preferred
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Capable of driving a G class company vehicle in a safe and professional manner and clean drivers abstract
  • Effective communication skills
  • Highly organized and able to multitask
  • Expectation to attend mandatory meetings and events in person at London, Ontario
