Systems Analyst

Reporting to the Manager, Infrastructure, the Systems Analyst will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair and support of information systems hardware and software.  This includes the configuration and deployment of client/server based systems, analysis and resolution of software, hardware and networking problems, and assisting users with system access.


The Systems Analyst will:
  • Assist the Systems Administrator with maintenance of the virtual and physical server environment and the operating systems and applications hosted by them. This includes configuration and deployment of policies to automate tasks, and maintenance of the network environment.
  • Perform regular systems updating including operating system patch upgrades, virus scans, disk defragmentation and disk scans for surface integrity. 
  • Ensure that system backup procedures are successfully performed regularly according to a predetermined schedule.
  • Be proactive in software, hardware, and security concerns by keeping abreast of new trends.
  • Configure and deploy new computer workstations for faculty, administration, and staff. 
  • Repair and maintain computer workstations in all areas of the College by replacing defective or worn out internal computer components, upgrading or reloading operating systems and applications
  • Perform troubleshooting of local and wide area networks and related switching hardware. 
  • Install, repair, and configure network switches, VLAN segmentation, wireless access points, and network cabling for device installation.
  • Provide installation, maintenance and operation of the institutional campus card system.
  • Oversee installation and access to network-based security cameras.
  • Work with Client Support Supervisor to provide end-user support for various College resources
  • Assist with Residence Network support including the issuing of block notices, residence network address maintenance, and on-site assistance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Have a College Diploma in Information Technology
  • Bring at least 3-5 years of previous relevant experience
  • Have knowledge and experience with Microsoft Active Directory, VMWare, Veeam, and Group policies
  • Continue to update knowledge and be proactive when deploying new technologies.
  • Have knowledge and experience with both computing and networking standards.
  • Provide end user support on new projects or systems for which training is not available.
  • Must respond promptly to system, application, and network outages (including after-hours and weekends).
TYPE OF JOB:

Full Time (40 hours per week)

EFFECTIVE DATE:

As soon as possible.

SALARY RANGE:

SSG 11 - $63,365 to $77,204, per annum based on a 40 hour work week.
