TD IT Build covers a number of functional disciplines or practice areas. These technology professionals demonstrate incredible commitment through their participation in a combination of build-related functions or activities, such as:

  • Application and implementation of platform design patterns and standards for infrastructure components across various platform domains;
  • Delivery Management functions within the build mandate to co-ordinate and drive deployment- related activities;
  • Structured focus on project delivery to implement deliverables for their respective and specialized areas of infrastructure build; and
  • Specialized Services functions that provision contact center infrastructure and network-related infrastructure work for Real Estate and/or Branch environments, hardware assets etc.

Job Description

  • Champion accessibility and inclusive design across TD lines of business and Corporate areas with a focus on Employee User Experience
    • Review the capabilities and requirements of digital and hardware platforms and identify strategic opportunities to drive accessibility forward
  • Consult with technology project teams to help them understand and integrate accessibility into their business strategy, project requirements and day to day activities
    • Educate our design, developer and test teams on accessibility standards and implementation
    • Support businesses in discussions with vendors, acting as a subject matter expert to ensure accessibility is fully considered for vendor solutions
  • Assess and document accessibility conformance of applications, websites and mobile apps, etc…
  • Help drive the evolution, implementation and socialization of our accessibility standards, support documentation and procedures promoting IT accessibility conformance across the Bank
  • Advanced knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG), and how to properly implement them within a solution
  • Provide support to our colleagues with disabilities who use assistive technology

 

Requirements

  • Passion for accessibility and making TD a leader in supporting persons with disabilities
  • 5+ years of experience working with IT Accessibility standards
  • Self-starter with a strong commitment to service and operational excellence
  • Articulate, with excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Comfortable communicating with people at all levels across the organization, both virtually and in-person
  • Consistently positive with the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with business partners, vendors and IT teams
  • Experience participating in technology projects with a solid understanding of waterfall and Agile methodologies
  • Comprehensive knowledge of WCAG 2.0, 2.1, ARIA, Section 508 standards
  • Comprehensive experience testing with screen readers, alternate input devices and other accessibility tools/utilities
  • Working/intermediate knowledge of HTML, scripting languages and coding techniques
  • Proficient at creating accessible documents including Word, PDF, Powerpoint, etc.
  • Proven ability to work independently, work creatively and strategically, track and prioritize work, meet deadlines while juggling multiple projects
  • Natural leader who takes initiative and coordinates activities effectively across the team
