What We’re Looking For

We’re adding a new Copywriter role at Northern! The Copywriter will be responsible for developing and writing copy that meets the business and marketing objectives for Northern’s internal and external marketing teams. This individual will be responsible for understanding, connecting and writing to varying audiences across a range of platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop clear, creative copy for marketing materials including press releases, web content, editorials, email blasts, banner advertising, newsletters, social posts and other marketing-related materials
  • Perform content maintenance and updates as needed in accordance with current project efforts
  • Write benefit-driven copy for landing pages that will generate leads and conversions
  • Generate, edit, publish and share content (original text, images, video or HTML) on social media that builds meaningful connections and encourages engagement/action
  • Interpret creative briefs to develop and produce creative concepts
  • Work collaboratively with Northern’s marketing and design team members to achieve department goals while incorporating business and UX requirements in content creation
  • Develop a positive, and partnering relationship with all clients
  • Research and understand the clients’ needs and target audiences using a variety of research techniques to find key insights

Knowledge, Education & Experience Required

  • Undergraduate University Degree or College Diploma in a related field (eg Business, Marketing, etc.)
  • 3+ Years of Copywriting experience required
  • Experience using Google Suite is required
  • Demonstrated experience writing for brands, UX or web content creation, and development.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and the ability to quickly learn new software; knowledge of various Google Applications

  • Ad copy experience and/or other relevant marketing experience
