Summary

Note: This role will work remotely until regular operations are resumed.

Note: This is a full-time Administrative position (37.5 hours per week).

Duties: The Supervisor, Creative Services, is responsible for the leadership and art direction of the Creative Services team including graphic designers, photographers and videographers. The incumbent will provide effective creative leadership and mentorship with a concentrated focus on organizational efficiency and accuracy, including the oversight of the Reputation and Brand Management (RBM) project management software and the workflow process in order to provide project assignment, time tracking and workload balancing.

The Supervisor, Creative Services, will work closely with RBM Management and College administrators to provide strategic creative direction that informs the development of marketing communications plans and activities for areas of strategic importance.

The incumbent is responsible for the overall visual aspect of the College Brand identities and maintenance of Brand guidelines; evaluating brand creative in a complex organizational environment; acting as primary contact with external agencies and printers to provide quotations, creative directions and direct invoices; stewarding the workflow of creative services through estimating projects and setting expectations that optimize production; identifying bottlenecks in process, and inspiring and motivating the Creative Services team through skilled art direction.

Qualifications

- Post-secondary 3 year diploma/degree in a related discipline such as Art, Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, or Photography
- Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in a relevant function or role in a team environment
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered; preference will be given to applicants meeting the education requirements
- A strong skillset using Adobe After Effects, Cinema 4D (or other related 3D software), Content Management Systems and other web technologies is an asset
- The incumbent will have expert knowledge in leading edge tools, trends and techniques in the rapidly changing field of design, photography and video
- A strong understanding HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Strong knowledge of ActiveCollab and Microsoft Office
- Skilled in programming for digital communications and web design
- Must be proficient in Adobe CS5+ with a strong emphasis on Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
- Must have a strong understanding of designing artwork for multiple platforms and uses (i.e. traditional print, outdoor advertising, mobile and the web)
- Well-developed consulting skills
- Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills
- Project management and workload assignment
- Leadership skills with conflict resolution experience
- Budget development and monitoring
- The incumbent will have a high level of knowledge and expertise in the strategy, development and production of innovative creative items that support College goals and initiatives
- In-depth understanding of the role that brand and communications plays in the engagement of students, faculty or community partners
- Works well with others and collaborate effectively to achieve collective goals
