Senior Software Engineer

The Senior Software Engineer is a hands-on role designed to lead product and architecture, solve technical challenges, contribute as an individual, and help build our team(s). By “hands-on,” we don’t mean working with your team on technical problems on a daily basis or leading code reviews. We expect every team member, including you, to actively commit and push code changes to one or more of our repositories.

What would a typical day look like?

• Be an active member of a highly motivated global Information Technology Team supporting all entities within the Convergix Automation portfolio.
• Work in a fast-paced but highly focused and strategically aligned team
• Develop, implement, and support various software and reporting applications to realize the corporate objectives, directed by the Director of Enterprise Applications
• Writing custom code, reports, applications, and integrations to improve/ streamline business processes
• Liase with stakeholders from multiple operating companies to scope business needs, technical requirements and estimate project timelines
• Be continuously learning about technology tools and business processes from Marketing, Sales, Applications Engineering, Project Execution, Supply Chain, and Aftermarket
• Recommend and support the businesses efforts around continuous improvements and process improvements

• Demonstrated experience leading those around you to deliver high-quality software, systems, and support through iterative improvement and regular deployment of services at scale to support other teams, products, and business outcomes.
• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or applicable career experience
• Experience with version control software, e.g., Git and Azure DevOps
• Experience in full life cycle of software development lifecycle (SDLC); requirements analysis, design, development, testing, implementation
• Experienced in web application development utilizing C#, ASP.NET MVC / Core, Entity Framework, and SQL Server.
• Experience with relational and non-relational database design and development
• Integrations using technologies such as XML, SOAP, REST, and SSIS
• Experience with SQL Server Administration, stored procedures, queries etc. and Power Bi
• Experience in developing reports using either the Microsoft Reporting Services or SAP Crystal Reports platforms
• Experience with various ERP Systems and terminology for the purposes of developing software integrations and reports

Travel Requirements

• Must be able to travel to the USA, Canada, and Europe on an as-needed basis
• Travel predominately to London, Ontario
• May require travel to any of our 25+ locations
• First three months: 50% travel
• After three months: 25% travel
