StarTech.com is eager to welcome a Product Compliance Administrator to the Vendor Management Team. Reporting to the Team Lead, Compliance, the Product Compliance Administrator is responsible for providing general regulatory product compliance support and administering compliance documentation within the business.  This role provides the opportunity to interact with almost every department with StarTech.com, as well as external customers, suppliers, vendors, 3rd party service providers, and regulatory agencies around the globe.

This role can be performed remotely, in-office or a bit of both! This position offers a competitive salary, bonus potential, and benefit package. 

What will you be doing?

  • Answering internal/external compliance inquiries, maintaining compliance registrations and compliance databases.
  • Providing up-to-date, accurate, timely, and easy-to-access compliance information.
  • Reviewing compliance documentation for the approval of new and existing products.
  • Requesting and processing compliance documentation from suppliers, entering purchase requisitions, and providing compliance documentation upon request.
  • Reviewing, updating and notifying outcomes of Regulatory Compliance Audits.
  • Solving problems with ingenuity and/or innovation to streamline and improve processes.
  • Understanding and following product/market release schedules and targets to ensure appropriate compliance documentation is complete and available in databases.
  • Notifying of any upcoming legal, inventory management, or supply chain changes, requirements, or other relevant information.
  • Handling confidential and/or technical and/or proprietary information.
  • Handling monetary transactions.

What can you bring to the table?

  • Advanced College Diploma, preferably in a Technical, Data Analysis/Management, Business Administration, Law Clerk, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Technical Administration, preferably in Consumer Electronics, Information Technology Equipment (ITE), Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), and/or Global Market Access (GMA).
  • Proven experience in Product Regulatory Compliance (Product Safety, EMC/EMI, RF/Wireless, Environmental/Chemical Regulations, Import/Export Regulations, Government Legislation, etc.).
  • Database Administration experience.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Mindset for continuous improvement (lean methodology).
  • Experience with technical specifications and drawings.
  • Excellent time management skills and high attention to detail.
  • Language fluency in English is required, but bilingualism in Mandarin or Spanish is considered a strong asset.
