Principal Research Director/ Research Director - Industry Practice (Healthcare)
 

Are you passionate about developing new insights and leveraging your IT experience in Healthcare Services, Hospitals and/or Health Insurance firms, to provide advice on how to deliver better IT services and digitally enable organizations? If so, you could be Info-Tech’s next Principal Director on the Industry Research & Advisory team.

As Principal Research Director, Healthcare, you create and deliver client-driven, project-based, practical research and advisory services that helps Info-Tech Members drive measurable results in their organizations and unlock organizational value through digital enablement. In this role, your primary focus is within the domains of IT and digital business Strategy development, application of industry trends, working knowledge of core technology used in the Healthcare industry, IT Spend & Budget Management research, Risk & Compliance, etc, for Healthcare Services, Hospitals and/or Health Insurance firms.

What you will do, includes, but not limited to:

Research

  • Interviewing Subject Matter Experts, finding and reading relevant literature in your assigned topic, and using the information gathered to generate insights.
  • Cultivating insights into a framework or methodology and building supporting tools and resources for publish on our website and use by Info-Tech’s Industry Members.
  • Creating Healthcare research for members upon request.
  • Through research and vendor briefings, keep a pulse on what’s happening in the industry around the various Healthcare application/solution areas, including upcoming trends and best practices, in part, to assist in your contribution of ideas to the research agenda.

 

Advisory Calls with Clients

  • Leading calls with Members to provide an overview of Info-Tech’s published research.
  • Listening to the information provided by Members and recommending ways they can use the research to work through a challenge or project.
  • Assist to scope member concerns and direct them to relevant research as well as identify gaps in research products.

Facilitate Workshops

  • Using Info-Tech’s published research to facilitate a series of activities with Members and their teams.
  • Throughout the workshop, collecting activity outputs from participants and compiling them into a polished final deliverable for the Member at the end of the engagement.

Business Development & Cross-Departmental Support

  • Help drive the commercial success of the Industry practice by providing subject matter expertise to Sales, Workshop Delivery, Global Services (formerly Executive Services), Consulting, Public Relations & Marketing teams as needed.
  • Design and build of high-quality keynote/other presentations, and successful delivery of presentations as needed.

To be successful, you will need:

 Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree required (business, technology, or healthcare management preferred). An MA, MBA, or MSc beneficial.
  • Professional certifications in an IT or project management related topic e.g. PMP, COBIT 5, ITIL an asset.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience at Manager-Director-level/above or equivalent working in an IT role as a practitioner, consultant, or analyst with experience in mid to large IT organization in the Healthcare Services, Hospitals and/or Health Insurance industries
  • Practical experience providing advisory services in some combination of the following domains necessary:
    • IT & Digital Business Strategy
    • Budget Management
    • Governance
    • Risk & Compliance,
    • Service Management
    • People and Leadership
  • Presentation and facilitation experience demonstrated through prior client-facing engagements important.
  • History of gaining and maintaining trusted advisor status with management. Strong working relationships with C-suite considered beneficial.
