Position Purpose

Are you interested in leveraging your Enterprise Architecture skills and experience to provide advice, guidance, and insights to IT Leaders? Info-Tech is growing at an amazing pace and as a result we’re growing a new team of Technical Counselors to help keep up with the evolving needs of Info-Tech Members.

Your main objective is to assist IT leaders in delivering improved results by optimizing their Enterprise Architecture practice and general decision making, mitigating risk, and addressing the struggles and challenges they face on the path to professional excellence. As Technical Counselor for Enterprise Architecture, you will combine your subject matter expertise with Info-Tech’s published research to deliver client-driven, project-based, practical advisory services that helps IT leaders drive measurable results in their organizations.

If you’re intrigued at the thought of working closely with clients on their Enterprise Architecture projects and challenges, you could be the next Technical Counselor for Enterprise Architecture in our Research & Advisory Department.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide technical counsel and oversight exclusively to 10-15 clients within any 12-month period, cultivated or assigned.
  • Advising IT management on how to best fulfill their Enterprise Architecture mandates and show back value to the business, through calls and video conferencing.
  • Evaluate Member needs and work with them to set objectives and develop a strategy/work plan within the terms and conditions of the Member’s agreement.
  • Diagnose member value expectations pain points and connect them with appropriate Info-Tech Research Group product solutions.
  • Provide proactive thought leadership and new ideas not “asked for” on behalf of the Member’s organization.
  • Leverage Info-Tech and 3rd party assets to provide IT Leaders with the resources they need to support their business both strategically and operationally.
  • Build strong relationships with the Members’ peer groups and important stakeholders to provide experiences that are tailored to each Member’s objectives and culture.
  • Identifying Enterprise Architecture trends and proposing research topics.
  • Provide recommendations to Sales Representatives/Directors on potential client workshops and other means of client engagement.
  • Design and build of high-quality keynote/other presentations, and successful delivery of presentations as needed.

 Areas of focus for this role includes:

  • Research.  Participate in the research process as a Subject Matter Expert. Contribute to Info-Tech Research Group research by developing client case studies and/or industry research notes
  • Utilization. Leverage our research to assist Info-Tech members through the process of executing on their key initiatives. Maximize utilization through a series of structured calls, or custom consulting engagements.
  • Service Quality. Provide measurable value to our clients through the various services provided: research, calls, workshops, and consulting.
  • Account Renewal Rate. Work jointly with account managers to reengage customers with low service levels through targeted campaigns and outreach.  
  • Commercial Results. Identify opportunities to provide value to clients through workshops and consulting engagements and work with our commercial teams to define the scope and project outcomes.  

 

What You Will Need:

 Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree required (business or technology preferred). An MA, MBA, or MSc beneficial.
  • Professional certifications in Agile, Business Analysis, DevOps or other related disciplines considered valuable.
  • Possess 15+ years of professional IT experiences at multiple organizations in Enterprise Architecture or similar domain (Infrastructure, Applications, Data, Integration, Security) leadership positions.
  • Professional qualifications in this space such as SAFe, TOGAF, Archimate, DoDAF or similar are advantageous.
  • Expert knowledge in Enterprise Architecture Principles, Strategy and Operating Models.
  • Excellent knowledge in the majority of key architecture domains necessary:
    • Infrastructure
    • Applications
    • Data
    • Integration
    • Security
  • Practical modelling skills and hands on experience in the Enterprise Architecture space is required.
  • Demonstrated success in navigating complex service delivery models and responding to diverse needs of a variety of key-stakeholders.
  • Product Management experience in DevOps automation products an asset.
  • Presentation and facilitation experience demonstrated through prior client-facing meetings, training sessions, and consulting engagements.
  • History of strong relationship building and management skills. Experience gaining and maintaining trusted advisor status with senior management and C-level executives.  
  • Must be able to to travel, up to 4 on site visits with each client per year, plus occasional travel for Info-Tech meetings and events

  • Must be eligible for TN1 Management Consulting visa (Visa Eligibility Requirements)

  • Must be available for after-hours work periodically to service APAC clients.
