Department Overview:

The Marketing and Communications department at Ivey Business School plays an important role in shaping the School's public profile. This includes internal and external communication strategies and marketing programs that enhance and protect Ivey’s brand and reputation; advance the School’s position with its key stakeholders; promote Ivey’s world-class research and thought leadership; and drive broader national and international awareness and interest in the School’s programs. 

The team plays a pivotal role in developing and implementing plans that amplify Ivey’s brand and deliver a consistent brand message and market presence. We provide marketing, communication, media and event-planning support for the school and work closely with internal project managers and external vendors to ensure project plans are developed and executed in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Position Overview:

The Marketing Manager, Master’s Recruitment, situated within the Marketing and Communications team, will own marketing efforts for the Master’s programs (MBA, AMBA, MSc, MMA, and EMBA) at Ivey Business School. This role is pivotal in creating and maintaining a robust and engaged pipeline of prospective students. The incumbent will focus on driving demand across diverse global audiences and strategically engaging high potential candidates at key moments in their journey. The Marketing Manager will work in partnership with the Master’s Recruitment team to support their goals and enhance recruitment efforts.

Responsibilities:

Planning, strategic thinking 

  • Develop and implement recruitment marketing plans including managing prospective student experiences across touch points.
  • Establish journey maps based on prospect needs and preferences, design marketing communications journeys across segments and channels, and optimize experiences based on dynamic audience insights.
  • Identify and design integrated marketing campaigns and initiatives, ensuring alignment with key business objectives and audience needs. Collaborate with Communications to ensure a holistic approach to campaign planning. 
  • Proactively identify market and audience opportunities and propose ideas for enhancing the engagement experience of high potential audiences.
  • Develop the overall recruitment editorial plan, including social media and content marketing strategy, addressing the needs of key audiences at critical moments.
  • Develop digital marketing strategies in conjunction with agency partners, including paid social, PPC, and other channels.
  • Responsible for managing the full marketing funnel, nurturing leads, and enhancing brand awareness.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing strategies to generate leads for the business school's programs. This includes monitoring and analyzing the effectiveness of marketing campaigns to optimize reach and engagement with potential students.

Project management, production   

  • Manage the development and optimization of lead generation and lead nurturing programs, tracking performance across the funnel.
  • Manage production, publication and amplification of various short and long form content, ads, email, web, brochures, etc., ensuring compelling messaging and tone of voice and alignment with Ivey brand standards.
  • Manage projects and track budgets for key campaigns and projects.
  • Oversee projects handled by external agencies.

Optimization, reporting, monitoring 

  • Optimize lead management processes and manage recruitment database to ensure an engaged pipeline of prospective students across programs.
  • Monitor and manage recruitment engagement across the prospect journey, ensuring timely and relevant response.
  • Analyze and maintain campaign performance dashboards and track KPIs for recruitment marketing communications.
  • Manage campaign reporting and analysis, delivering actionable insights and clear recommendations for optimization.

Communicating, writing, responding 

  • Support the recruiting team with marketing and communications materials for various recruitment events including information sessions, emails, website, webinars, and promotions. This includes:
    • Writing and creating all emails
    • Writing alumni success stories and student testimonials 
    • Website updates and content development
    • Marketing automation: plan and build email journeys along with necessary content development
    • Marketing collateral 

Qualifications: 

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in business, communications, marketing, journalism, or related field is required. Post-graduate education in relevant field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing, social media, communications, public relations, influencer relations, or other related field.
  • Experience with project management, journey mapping, and editorial planning.
  • Proven experience developing content for web, blogs, social media, public relations and/or print.
  • Experience and comfort with a variety of marketing technologies including CRM, CMS platforms, Google Analytics, marketing automation software and social media preferred.
  • Experience with lead generation, lead nurturing, email marketing, online influencers, SEO and SEM preferred.
