Job Details

CARFAX Canada is excited to announce the position of Software Architech. In this role you will work on-site from our London, ON office and report to the Development Team Lead.

As a Software Architect, you will play a crucial role in shaping the technical direction of our projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and different stakeholders, to design and implement scalable, reliable, and maintainable software systems. 

The Software Architect will drive architectural decisions, ensuring that our solutions align with business goals and industry best practices.

Position Responsibilities

Software Design and Architecture

• Define and document high-level architecture, including components, modules, and interfaces.
• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and patterns.
• Ensure scalability, performance, and security considerations are addressed.

Technical Leadership

• Mentor and guide development teams in implementing architectural best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Lead code reviews and provide constructive feedback.

Solution Implementation

• Hands-on development of critical components.
• Work closely with development teams to ensure architectural integrity throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

Continuous Learning

• Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
• Contribute to the company’s knowledge base by sharing insights and conducting internal workshops.

Education and Experience Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience 7+ years as a Software Architect or similar role.
• 10 + years of IT related experience.
• Strong knowledge of software design principles, patterns, and best practices.
• Proficiency in at least C#, SQL Server, and Vue.
• Experience with the Azure Cloud platform, and microservices architecture.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
