Note: This is an Initiatives/Opportunities full-time position ending March 31, 2023 with the possibility of an extension up to a maximum of 24 months.

Duties: The OER Design Studio Project Assistant and Developer supports the OER Design Studio team to work with faculty to build high-quality digital learning resources. This role assists in the administration and management of the Design Studio and provides support to the team. The incumbent works on planning, scheduling, and documenting workflows for all projects, in addition to supporting media development as needed.

Qualifications
  • Post-secondary 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Education, Project Management, Graphic Design or a related field required
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in project management, preferably in either a post-secondary institution or public sector organization
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered; preference will be given to applicants meeting the education requirements
  • Experience in web design and development and/or graphic design with advanced knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3
  • Advanced knowledge of open education, open educational resources and Creative Commons licenses
  • Experience liaising and working with senior leadership, stakeholders, and other College personnel to understand their current and/or future needs and concerns
  • Organized and committed to achieving deliverables when expected, and ensuring any issues that arise are proactively dealt with
  • Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Google Suite, learning management systems, Adobe Suite and other authoring tools
  • Capable of communicating information in a clear and engaging manner (i.e. active listening, effective questioning) to optimize mutual understanding
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts in layman’s language
  • Advanced skills in Pressbooks, H5P and Hypothes is an asset
