Cybersecurity Trainer
Description
The Cybersecurity Trainer is a client-facing role responsible for the delivery of training services and skills development advisory under Info-Tech’s Cybersecurity Workforce Development Program. They will work with adult learners from the Information Technology industry to help them acquire cybersecurity technical knowledge and skills required to protect and defend the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of their organization’s digital assets and operations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver live classroom training, both online and in-person when required.
- Support in the development of course content, learning materials, case studies and practical hands-on activities.
- Develop role-based curriculums, tailored to the client’s unique business needs.
- Employ instructional technology and active learning approaches to enhance the learning experience and achieve learning outcomes.
- Evaluate learner’s progress using a variety of Info-Tech certified assessments and Cyber Range exercises.
- Report on individual learner’s progress to security leadership.
- Provide advisory and coaching to security leadership on matters of workforce development.
Position Requirements
Formal Education & Certification
- Post-secondary education in any IT, InfoSec, cybersecurity or relevant Education related fields
Knowledge & Experience
- 10+ years of experience in InfoSec/cybersecurity practitioner or trainer roles
- Demonstrated broad-based understanding of InfoSec and cybersecurity best practices and industry standards
- Experience in education and/or technical training
- Experience in writing and developing training materials, including assessments, case studies, and presentations
- Expertise in cybersecurity and risk management
- Experience in mentoring and coaching an asset
- Experience in project/account management an asset
- Industry certifications, such as Security+, CISSP, CISM an asset
- Very good knowledge of the software of the Microsoft Office suite
