Senior Network and Security Solutions Engineer

Join the dynamic and growing Network and Security services team at JMP Solutions. Responsible for virtually all technical IT related work with respect to projects and service provided to customers, as an Industrial Networking Specialist with JMP you would have a pivotal role in solving our customer’s problems using your creativity and technical expertise to create, design and implement innovative industrial IT systems solutions. Be on the front lines interfacing with customers while providing tier-1 service, support, and value-added industry expertise. As ethernet and more advanced IT solutions become a major part of the industrial landscape, you will be directly impacting customers from all divisions with your expertise and technical delivery capabilities.

 

What Would a Typical Day Look Like?

  • Act as subject matter expert designing and supporting IT solutions in an industrial environment
  • Perform assessments and provide recommendations for thorough improvement of customer infrastructure
  • Perform on-site activities including configuration, integration and testing of industrial network and security solution for large growing customer base
  • Ability to assess and resolve complex customer technical issues related to physical and logical infrastructure
  • Support divisions throughout JMP on their customer projects as they relate to and include ethernet, IT, and security related components
  • Prepare detailed reports, presentations and quotations to customers as needed
  • Work closely with VP of Operations, Divisional Directors, and other credited peers to plan and engage on multiple customer projects
  • Participate in control system architecture reviews to provide detailed designs for networks and virtualized server infrastructures
  • Work directly with clients on network designs as well as switching and routing configurations
  • Configuration and deployments of virtual images with Thin Client provisioning
  • Wireless system design and deployments will also be core to this role
  • Aid in the creation of annual fiscal business and goal plans

 

What Qualifies You for this Opportunity?

  • At least 10 years’ experience in an Industrial (preferred) or Enterprise IT environment
  • At least 5 years’ experience in designing and deploying network and security architectures preferably in Industrial Control Systems (ICS) involving multiple vendors and technologies
  • Thorough understanding of the IT and OT industry, including best practices, recommended applications and systems, and extensive overall general IT knowledge
  • Experience in implementing network solutions supporting various MES Systems
  • Prior automation/networking experience and use of protocols in SCADA an Industrial applications
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality results
  • Must be a self-starter with ability to work towards plans and targets
  • Superior troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to successfully work closely with a team or on your own
  • Superior oral and written communication skills while working in a customer facing role
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple requests and tasks
  • Network design within IT and Automation platforms (Topologies, Rings, Routing, VLAN, VRRP)
  • WLAN design under IEEE 802.11 and knowledge in Rapid Roaming
  • Networking analysis knowledge and proficiencies in Wireshark, SNMP, NMap, and Wireless Site Surveys
  • Superior understanding of subnetting, VLANs, routing/switching and wireless
  • Experience with Next-Generation Firewalls
  • Experience with VMware and virtual infrastructure technologies
  • Extensive knowledge of data center and cloud environments
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills related to the OSI Model and windows active directory systems
  • Experience managing enterprise security and anti-virus/malware
  • An ability to travel; with approximately 50% travel within North America.

 

Technical Certifications

  • CCNP network certification or equivalent required
  • Cyber Security accreditation from an ISC2 recognized course (Sec+ or higher required)
  • Microsoft & VMware related server and virtualization certifications an asset
  • College Diploma or University Degree in a related discipline is required
