Role Description

Synamedia develops broadband, syndication, TV and OTT software solutions for some of the biggest television operators around the world. As we expand our offers and move towards multi-tenant SaaS models for the business, we are looking to recruit a Solution Engineer (pre-sales) with industry expertise in video and broadband solutions and the North American market, specifically Canada.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced service provider industry professional with both a technical background and a love of making technology easy to understand. As a Solutions Engineer, you’ll work closely with sales as a technical specialist helping identify and close opportunities with new and existing customers. As a technical evangelist, you’ll help technical and business executives understand how to use Synamedia Gravity (as well as Synamedia’s other broadband and syndication and media cloud service products) to transform their business and solve business issues. Synamedia’s Gravity is a platform solution that bridges devices (video and broadband) and advanced services (device management, advanced Wi-Fi, security, voice, video, etc.), simplifying the integration for point for servicer providers. The solution and technology span devices, mobile application, web UI, cloud and managed API.

This role is based in and focused on North America, but part of a global Solutions Engineering team who are all passionate about media and broadband technology and enjoy collaborating to grow and share their expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Own the pre-sales customer relationship and lead its technical strategy as the trusted technical advisor for nominated prospects and customers.
  • Be the customer-facing technical expert for Synamedia Gravity.
  • Assist sales in qualifying prospects and successfully closing deals.
  • Manage the sales bid process by collaborating internally to respond to RFIs & RFPs that meet client requirements, Synamedia’s goals, and are best practices.
  • Create customer-facing high-level designs.
  • Understand the product roadmap and product updates.
  • Understand the market and competitive landscape and be able to position our propositions compared to competitors.
  • Provide technical demos.
  • Organize, plan, create and deliver compelling proof of concepts (POC) and trials.
  • Share strategic customer and market insights internally (e.g., sales, marketing, product, technology) to drive continued growth within the business.

Personal Attributes

  • You have 10+ years of experience within presales, solution engineering, or solution architecture.
  • You have a background in traditional Service Provider middleware and Open Source Software (e.g. QAM, DOCSIS, GPON, OEM, System on Chip (SoC).
  • You understand video and broadband software.
  • You have a knowledge of cloud infrastructures like AWS, Open Stack, and VMWare.
  • You have some familiarity with stacks like RDK (or Synamedia eRDK), Android Common Broadcast Stack (CBS), and OpenWRT.
  • You have some familiarity with Mobile / Web apps, portals, and user experiences
  • You enjoy problem-solving, lateral thinking, and innovating.
  • You’re a bridge between customer, commercial, and technology.
  • You’re passionate about making technology easy to understand to customers.
  • You’re proactive, self-motivated, a finisher, collaborative, adept at working with multiple stakeholders, and comfortable managing multiple projects.
  • You fluently read/write/speak in English.
