Description

Job Title: Senior Consultant or Consultant - HR Practice

Location: Canada, ON

Travel: Willingness and ability to travel (up to 30%) which may require being at a client site up to 5 days in one week and may occasionally require travel on Sundays.

Other Requirements: Must be eligible to obtain a TN1 Visa to work in the USA when needed.

Position Summary

McLean & Company, a division of Info-Tech Research Group services is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented person to join our Consulting team. In this role you’ll find yourself working across multiple projects on topics such as developing HR strategic plans, Organizational Design (Restructuring), supporting HR system selections, optimizing business and HR processes, and ultimately supporting our clients through various projects to develop and improve their HR organization and capabilities!

The Senior Consultant will work to support a growing team that regularly interacts and advises with executive leaders, CHROs and HR/business leaders. This ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate ability to work on complex projects that require a mix of interpersonal and analytical skills.

Major Responsibilities

  • Conduct Research and Analysis activities: Analyzes quantitative and qualitative data from multiple points of input (market research, interviews, surveys, etc.), identifies patterns and trends, and writes reports/creates presentations of the overall themes and insights to deliver to the customer.
  • Results Debriefs: Debriefs clients, including HR leadership and executive leadership teams on results, including explaining survey methodology, report findings, and sharing key trends and insights.
  • Action Planning: Support efforts of consulting project leaders in guiding our customers through best practices for pre and post project strategies, including communication plans, and helps to identify priorities for action planning based on McLean & Company research and bespoke project findings.
  • Opportunity Development: Partners with the McLean & Company business development leads and senior members of the consulting team to understand client needs and develop proposals and statements of work.
  • Project Delivery: Works in partnership with a Project Lead to scope the proposed project work, including but not limited to developing the project plan and schedule, understanding client needs and goals, designing and executing the project plan to achieve outcomes, crafting deliverables and actively identifying additional opportunities.

Education and Experience

Required

  • Undergraduate degree
  • 2+ years of experience

Desirable

  • A specialized degree or diploma in Business and/or HR
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience using R, Matlab, Questback or any other statistical analysis tools
  • Beginner or intermediate skills in Project Management
  • Experience working in an HR function, preferably in a consultative role

Applies academic/work experience, knowledge, and Info-Tech’s research to a client’s issue or question to provide meaningful insight to the client.  Balances professionalism and friendliness. Demonstrates agility to go where the client wants to go. 
  • Analytical: Identifies trends in quantitative and qualitative data and links it to the project needs and desired outcomes.
  • Organization and Attention to Detail: Supports the implementation of complex projects. Effectively prioritizes client needs.
  • Verbal and Written Communication: Effective in communicating how we can meet client needs while managing expectations. Expected to explain results and complex concepts in a clear, concise manner both verbally and in written format.
  • Presentation and Facilitation: Presents survey results to senior leadership teams and employee groups and supports facilitation of focus groups at client site.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Works with other members of the CIO and Vendor Advisory Consulting team and McLean & Company Research to balance workloads and share ideas/learning experiences.
