Operations Analysis Specialist

SPGI’s Portfolio Valuations (PV) business is the leading provider of independent valuations for derivatives and other financial instruments, providing valuations to thousands of clients around the world, including pension and mutual funds, banks and insurance companies. We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to join our Product Development team in Toronto, Canada. 

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing subject matter product expertise to, handling escalations from, our global Customer Operations, Business Development, Sales, and Software Development teams in a role that requires specialized and advanced knowledge of OTC derivatives and pricing models across asset classes (interest rates, credit, equity, foreign exchange, commodity, hybrid). On a day-to-day basis, the candidate will provide product guidance, investigate models and navigate the demands of new customers in real-time; the candidate will conduct price challenges, recommend and test feature changes vis-à-vis customer needs or internal model audits, and will be responsible for coordinating coverage on new client portfolios. We will demand the daily application of the candidate’s advanced Portfolio Valuations-OTC derivatives product knowledge, deep understanding of our buy-side/trade datasets and customers, and expertise to navigate complexities in the expanding valuations landscape.

The candidate will also regularly collaborate with Market Data, Software Development, Business Development, Customer Operations, Sales, and members of other teams within the PV business and across SPGI more broadly to contribute to the ongoing development of the PV service. such as making model and process improvements, testing changes to processing or infrastructure, conducting coverage checks and other new product development and auditing internal valuations models. The role also has a client facing aspect, with the candidate’s derivative knowledge being leveraged to assist operations, business development and/or sales in client communications.

Qualifications:

Degree in Finance preferred plus min. 3 years applicable experience
