Position Summary
The Software Architect will report to the Manager, Software Development and be the technical leader responsible for the software architecture for all software developed. Providing guidance and recommendations to software developers, managers and associated infrastructure staff as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the software development lifecycle with special focus paid to software architecture and design
  • Build, improve and develop software architecture processes to be used and followed with IT Development department
  • Apply recognized software development methods on existing and new software development
  • Work closely with Manager, Software Development to recommend the best architectural designs for new software
  • Work closely with Manager, IT Service & Support to ensure development and system plans are aligned
  • Provide direction and guidance to all development team members with regards to software architecture
  • Have fun in a fast-paced work environment


The ideal candidate will bring:
  • B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent discipline and/or industry experience
  • Knowledge & understanding of client/server, web application development, databases, tools, and infrastructure
  • Expert knowledge of .NET Framework
  • Expert knowledge and application experience with Visual Studio, and GIT source control.
  • Expert knowledge of enterprise level development, source control procedures and processes
  • Expert knowledge with modern web languages and technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, etc.)
  • Familiarity with MSSQL
  • Strong communication skills, able to communicate in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, and strong attention to detail
  • Strong motivation, high level of commitment, and proactive and positive attitude
  • Experience in an agile development environment
  • Strong understanding of performance and scalability issues in applications
  • Desire to create SDLC success through collaboration and process enhancements with a willingness to coach staff on best practices and implementation approaches
  • Ability to travel between CA and USA up to 10% of the time as required
