OSG is searching for a Junior Software Developer to join our development team based in London Ontario. 

In this position, you will work alongside our team of developers to design, develop and test software programs and applications to better support internal OSG departments and ensure a seamless, problem free and efficient experience for our customers. 

This is an exciting role for an ambitious new grad looking for their first opportunity out of school or for someone with 1 or 2 years of previous experience. In order to ensure that our tools and platforms remain lean, efficient and support business continuity, you will have to think logically and analytically while flexing your troubleshooting muscles.  Additionally, this is a great opportunity to work with different non-technical teams and functions and develop your overall business acumen.

This is a work from home position with a preference to candidates located in Ontario.  

What will you do in this role?

  • With key needs, data and organizational goals in mind, you will assist in the design, maintenance and testing of new products and platforms 
  • You’ll be expected to troubleshoot and resolve many non mission-critical challenges such as data modifications, utilizing native platform tools, code changes, as well as building features
  • Work with internal stakeholders such as Sales to create better experiences for both internally and externally clients,  Accounting to streamline invoicing processes, and other stakeholders by extracting and analyzing meaningful data
  • Contribute to existing products, including bug fixes, enhancements and product adjustments with data consolidation and integrity in mind
  • Monitor and provide support to internal stakeholders by documenting software related issues and providing solutions
  • Manage tickets through our internal ticket tracking system
  • Work with various internal departments to create reports on an ad hoc basis
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions to continuously improve our products and processes
  • Distill and clearly communicate technical information to non-technical departments 

What can you bring to the table?

  • Completion of post-secondary education in programming or computer science 
  • 0-2 years of experience in a development role, co-op terms and internships can be included
  • Knowledge and experience in web application development and industry trends
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM’s would be an asset
  • Demonstrated experience with any (Java, C#, C/C++, PHP)
  • Strong HTML/CSS/JS knowledge, and experience with SQL
  • LAMP stack experience is a nice to have
