As an experienced senior brand designer, you know the number of talented, committed, and creative professionals it takes to build effective and cutting-edge ecommerce brands, campaigns, websites, and platforms. It’s always a group effort, and this role is a central figure that sees the brand vision and goals turn into reality for clients. It requires senior level experience.

This role is remote-friendly, with a preference for candidates based in Ontario, Canada.

A Day in the Life of tbk’s Senior Brand Designer:

  • Morning Research – You start your day by reading the latest in design trends, continuously honing your skills in an ever-changing field.
  • Daily Meeting – Early in the morning, you join tbk’s morning huddle, connecting with the team for 15 minutes to talk about what the day’s happenings. You help ensure everyone is ready to complete the deliverables needed for the products being designed.
  • Client Consulting – After that, you meet directly with an existing client who is looking for a new brand, or a brand modernization project. Paired with the CEO and other account strategists, you listen, advise, and start the process of imagining a new future for the brand that will attract the right customers to its products and services.
  • Client Presentation – Later that day you meet with a multi-national company that chose tbk to launch their new campaign. Today, you are presenting the campaign concepts for the first time, alongside the CEO.
  • Team Support – After that meeting, you regroup internally with the creative team to plan the next steps based on client feedback, comments, and discussions.
  • Brand Creation – Your afternoon is spent planning, dreaming, and executing a new brand and campaign for a medium-sized business that’s looking to expand its services into the U.S..
  • Leadership – You end the day with a one-on -one with tbk’s Chief Creative Officer and CEO, Melissa McInerney. As your teammate, Melissa is supporting you with her 20 years of creative direction and brand design experience, leading teams and working with Canada’s most innovate companies.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • A genuine interest in business and performance; you read to better your leadership, communication, business acumen, and design skills.
  • A strong portfolio with experience in brand ideation and creation, campaign creation and design, and strong ad design.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly present designs and build alignment across multiple stakeholders.
  • You are a natural leader with over 5 years of experience consulting directly with Canada’s top CEOs, CMOs, CFOs and more. You handle yourself well under pressure in meetings and can handle strategic questioning from clients.
  • Excellent tactical visual design skills with a sensitivity to user experience.
  • You’re energized by combining user feedback, research, and data insights into a user-centered design process.
  • Ability to weigh competing factors to effectively prioritize product design initiatives.
  • Experience working in a Lean/Kanban process.
  • A respect and knowledge of WCAG compliant design.
  • Up to date with the latest mobile apps, digital product trends, techniques, and technologies.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s level education in Graphic Design, Visual Design, Interactive Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of work experience in design.

If staff have large vet bills, we pay for them (75% up to $3,000 per incident) through tbk’s Molly Fund. And this past summer, tbk’s Molly Fund opened to the public where families who have a dog that requires a medical amputation surgery can apply to the Fund for financial assistance.
