We are looking for a Security DevOps Engineer
Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: Toronto, London, Winnipeg.
Role description
The Security DevOps engineer is responsible for the securing, developing and supporting the DevOps and cloud-based technologies (both SaaS and IaaS/PaaS). You will also consult with product teams and test to ensure products are developed to minimize threats and risks. You will play a significant role in helping Digital Hub move from its current footprint to the new enterprise Cloud footprint. Working closely with our enterprise cloud team, you will provide input into the CI/CD best-practices that are evolving as part of the larger Supply Chain initiative.
You will contribute to the design and development of the DevOps improvements, Proof of Concepts as well as the end-to-end lifecycle, aligning to best practices, organizational standards and directions in collaboration with product and architecture. To be successful in this role, you will maintain a high degree of technical and security acumen related to your DevOps engineering. Ideally you have one or more personal side-projects on the go to enable you to continually learn and try new things outside of the work environment, allowing you to stay ahead of the curb.
What you will bring
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in business or computer science or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- 5+ years experience in SecDevOps, Cloud/DevOps or demonstrable transferrable skills
- Excellent understanding of cyber security concepts
- Certified in one or more of the following:
- Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer
- Microsoft Certified Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)
- AWS Certified Security
- CompTIA Cloud+/CompTIA Security/CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner
- (ISC)2 Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)/CISSP
- Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK)
- GIAC Cloud Security Automation (GCSA)
- Experience working with tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible or other Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Expertise with CI/CD tooling such as Git, Jenkins, SonarQube, Nexus, Vault etc.
- Experience of working with at least one of the major public cloud providers (Azure, GCP or AWS) and a willingness to continue to expand your knowledge
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and the ability to troubleshoot the difference between a Layer 4 and Layer 7 issue
- Strong understanding of authentication patterns including SAML SSO and JWT
- Willingness to work in 24/7 operational capacity, with occasional on-call based on operational requirements.
- Comfortable discussing the SDLC process and identifying areas for automation or improvement
- Agile delivery experience
- Proven experience and understanding of engineering best practices
- Proven ability to develop and maintain collaborative business relationships
- Able to pivot and quickly change direction in response to changing priorities
- Ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, complex concepts to a non-technical audience
- Working knowledge of Jira and Confluence an asset
- Experience working in financial services industry an asset
