Position Overview
 
As a Senior Manager of Runkeeper Product Operations you will be responsible for driving operational improvements and execution across product teams, as well as managing key relationships and initiatives to realize Runkeeper’s product strategy. You will be relied upon to oversee, communicate, and report on the Runkeeper product roadmap within the Runkeeper team and across ASICS. Day to day, you will be responsible for implementing processes to execute on the roadmap effectively, and managing the operations of that execution. The Senior Manager of Runkeeper Product Operations will work closely with and report to the Director of Runkeeper Product, and will manage a portion of the product team.

This position is open to internal and external candidates.

Work Location
 
The successful candidate for this role can be either a satellite employee (working 100% remotely from a designated location within Canada or US). Or, a hybrid employee (flexibility to work in the office or from home at a location within 75km/75 miles from the London, ON/Boston, MA office).

Responsibilities

 
  • Collaborate with the Director of Product to build and maintain relationships with ASICS regional and category stakeholders 
  • Serve as a liaison between the Runkeeper product team and the broader ASICS organization by providing regular status updates on roadmap progress to ASICS stakeholders, fielding their requests, synthesizing their feedback, and collaborating with the Director of Runkeeper Product to identify any required roadmap adjustments
  • Understand Runkeeper’s product strategy and how the roadmap delivers it; speak to and advocate for that strategy across ASICS 
  • Collaborate with engineering leadership to identify the appropriate resourcing needed to deliver on the roadmap, and communicates team changes across the Runkeeper organization
  • Provide end to end project management and leadership for strategic, high visibility, cross functional projects 
  • Provide mentorships for members of the product team in managing day to day operations to include but not limited to: running team meetings, scoping work, facilitating cross functional conversations, optimizing team velocity
  • Support Product Managers in creating or updating key business deliverables for the Director of Product, including but not limited to: feature decks summarizing key product changes and their performance, monthly written reports, quarterly presentations  and written reports summarizing progress, weekly written updates
  • Create and manages Runkeeper product processes by identifying gaps and leading improvement initiatives to ensure processes meet industry standards and support company goals 
  • Align roles and responsibilities between product, User Experience (UX), design, and development teams to effectively scale the Runkeeper organization 
  • Lead the Runkeeper product’s operational meetings to include weekly stand ups and bi-weekly feature request meetings, and serve as the product representative in other operational meetings 
  • Provide product updates and feedback as needed to other teams across the organization, including customer support and marketing 
  • Manage key Runkeeper 3rd party partnerships (e.g. Apple and Google)
  • Manage vendor contracts, team expenses, and team capitalization  
  • Work collaboratively with Human Resources to develop and forecast the Runkeeper Product team’s workforce needs
  • Train new hires on the Runkeeper Product team and provide coaching, training, and stretch assignments to all direct reports
  • Inform the Runkeeper Product department budget, working collaboratively to make decisions regarding vendors, software(s), and department workforce needs
  • Advocate for Runkeeper product team members in their career growth
  • Facilitate a collaborative environment on the Runkeeper Product team
  • Facilitate 1-on-1s, check-ins, and annual performance reviews for all direct reports, creating and maintain employee development documentation, including the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Provide support and guidance to the members of the Runkeeper Product team, providing feedback in real time, informing employees of and upholding of corporate policies, industry best practice standards, and managing performance expectations 
  • You’ll be an advocate for the Runkeeper Product team members in their professional development & career growth
  • Lead the Runkeeper Product Team in diversity and inclusion initiatives focusing on the culture and processes at a team level being in sync with the organization’s practices and future goals
Education & Experience
  • 5+ years of previous leadership experience
  • 3+ years of experience in digital product
  • 3+ years of experience in a client facing or relationship management role
  • Sound knowledge and experience in product management and design best practices
  • Proven ability to lead successful product projects from inception to completion
  • Excellent written verbal and communication skills, to include powerpoint presentations

The successful candidate for this role, if located in Canada, will become an employee of Race Roster North America Corporation (doing business as ASICS Apps Canada). If located in the USA, they will become an employee of ASICS Apps (doing business as ASICS Apps USA).
