Digital Project Manager
Location: Remote Canada or United States
Reports to Title: Director of Operations, Unity Works Media (J.D.Power)

The Role:

The Digital Project Manager is responsible for managing, coordinating, and communication around our T1 and T2 projects and deliverables while managing the client’s expectations and requirements.

This includes meeting regularly with clients to discuss programs, managing deliverables internally, coordinating between different departments, status reporting, escalation of issues that cannot be resolved in the team, and, in general, making sure the project is delivered on budget, on schedule, and within scope.

This is not a traditional PM role that focuses on a few large projects at a time with long time horizons. Our projects range from a single 30-day online advertising campaign to multi-year lifecycle marketing campaigns with sophisticated personalized landing pages. Some launch in a few weeks and others have several months' lead time.

This role is responsible for coordinating all activity around a project’s launch or ongoing maintenance.

It is 20% account management, 60% project management and 20% program management.

Responsibilities
  • Develop / manage appropriate project plans and communication documents for several rapid small-scale projects and programs and one or two larger projects per year.
  • Manage and maintain ongoing programs, meeting regular deadlines for updates and deployments.
  • Organize the work in a logical way so it is executed effectively and managed to the schedule.
  • Initiate resource request and update as required. Make optimal use of resources.
  • Track, manage, update and control issues.
  • Clearly understand the scope, identify changes early, and execute change approval procedures.
  • Set achievable project objectives; maintain a positive outlook; take responsibility; make decisions; and provide constructive feedback. Can strategize, inspire and motivate team members to a common goal.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Project status and performance reports are prepared and reviewed as required.
  • Consistently communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders.
  • Operational management in ensuring quality planning, delivery & execution of the project.
  • Manages key relationships with clients, internal & external executive, business, and vendor teams.
  • Ensure project documents are completed, labeled and stored.
  • Conduct final project lessons learned recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project outcomes.
Qualifications
  • 3 to 5 years role related experience ideally within a digital services and project management environments.
  • Good understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
  • Strong communication, analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective leadership skills and experience.
  • Ability to learn and understand project technical domain.
  • Exceptionally self-motivated, directed and detail oriented.
  • Ability to manage and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to react to project adjustments and alterations.
  • Proven ability to bring project to successful completion.
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.
  • Ability to use active listening to read situations, settle disputes equitably, and negotiate agreements.
  • Proficient PC skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
