Does the idea of helping to improve the availability and reliability of systems at Carfax excite you? If so, working as an IT Incident Manager may be the perfect role for you.  Using your skills and expertise you will leverage our tools to investigate issues that affect availability and performance of our systems and products. You will work with other technical teams to determine the root cause of failures and develop plans to prevent reoccurrences.

You will work with IT infrastructure teams, traditional development teams, and DevOps groups to resolve complex technical challenges. You will leverage your leadership abilities to direct recovery efforts and conduct post-mortem meetings. You will identify opportunities to improve system architecture and leverage automation.

 As an IT Incident Manager you will:

  • Investigate incidents and determine root cause
  • Build dashboards and reports
  • Analyze logs and performance metrics
  • Coordinate response during major incidents
  • Automate failover and processing issues 
  • Document preventative actions plans
  • Propose improvements to system architecture
  • Conduct incident retrospectives and assign error resolution

 As an IT Incident Manager you will be expected to have:

  • Experience working in a DevOps environment
  • Experience supporting applications in Amazon Web Services
  • Experience with distributed databases, Linux operating system, and network concepts.
  • Familiarity with Application Performance Monitoring tools
  • Familiarity with logging collection and analysis platforms
  • Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring tools
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes
  • Excellent problem solving skills
