But the domestic labour pool cannot supply enough workers to meet the industry’s demand. Many other countries face similar circumstances. As a result, mushroom farms throughout Canada and around the world are making large investments in process automation and robotic harvesting.

We are actively recruiting for the following position:
Job Title: Embedded Firmware Developer
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement drivers and interfaces for various sensors, actuators, and communication protocols on our custom built MCU.
- Maintain various real-time embedded systems with a focus on controlling highly complex robotic machines.
- Stay up to date with novel programming methods and embedded hardware
- Assist with troubleshooting multi-disciplinary issues and implementing effective solutions
- Engineering or Computer Science Degree coupled with at-least 5 years of firmware development experience.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with C, STM32 microcontrollers, and FreeRTOS.
- Experience with hardware interfaces and communication protocols (i.e. UART, GPIO, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, TCP/IP, Modbus, USB) as well as using protocol analysers.
- Experience with Git, MAKE, bootloaders, GCC compilers, JTAG trace, Debuggers.
- Experience with electronics i.e. reading schematics and basic hands-on electrical work
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with multi-disciplinary team and stay up to date with latest software development practices
