Position Overview

As an HR Administrator, you will be responsible for overseeing a full range of human resources functions and administrative services. You will manage a variety of domains including recruitment, employee relations, payroll assistance, HR programs, and more.

Responsibilities

Recruitment:

  • Completing full cycle of recruitment activities
  • Posting job vacancies internally and externally, reviewing candidate pool and partnering with applicable department Manager to conduct interviews and hire qualified candidates
  • Perform pre-employment background checks on potential new hires as directed
  • Assist with on-boarding efforts of newly hired team members
  • Conduct new-employee orientations

Employee Relations:

  • Provide coaching, guidance and support to leadership in employee relation matters
  • Respond to employee relation matters by completing investigations and required documentation with attention to detail
  • Implement and maintain programs and initiatives to improve employee engagement and retention

Payroll Assistance:

  • Assist finance department with payroll and ensure accurate bi-weekly payroll processing
  • Monitor time off records, leaves of absences, etc.
  • Prepare necessary personnel reports for management as needed

HR Programs

  • Coordinate employee performance reviews and assist managers with associated tracking of goals and objectives
  • Administer and manage company group benefits program and other related programs
  • Assist in the development and implementation of employment policies and procedures; prepare and maintains policies and procedures manuals to ensure compliance with all regulations and mandates
  • Assist with training and development programs and initiatives
  • Take the lead on other HR programs initiatives as required

Other Duties

  • Assist with company policies and practices to ensure compliance with all regulations and mandates
  • Maintain company organization charts and the employee directory
  • Maintain all employee files to ensure the highest level of confidentiality
  • Perform administrative and organizational duties as directed, including the potential for various ad hoc or special projects as assigned
  • Work with management to launch new employee engagement initiatives, retreats and other professional development activities
  • Assist leadership team in their efforts to foster a healthy and active environment

Education & Experience:

  • 3-5 years experience in an HR specific role
  • Member of HRPA required
  • Completion of post secondary education in Human Resources
  • CHRP or CHRL designation an asset
  • Strong computer skills, including Mac OS.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong people skills, listening and interpersonal skills
  • Focus on teamwork and professional demeanor
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Sound decision making skills and independent judgement
