Position Overview:

The Program Manager will manage highly visible product projects spanning multiple product lines, while leading assigned teams in meeting the program goals and objectives.  The Program Manager will also co-ordinate the multiple project deliveries that may span multiple Global Development Centers and time zones. These program deliveries are vital and time sensitive as many highly visible customers are awaiting the overall product delivery.

Candidate can be located anywhere in North America, preferably in est time zone.

 

You are responsible for:

  • Provides oversight for all projects within the Program accountable to ensure that all project deliveries meet or exceed timelines, cost and quality. High attention to detail.
  • Monitors performance and makes prioritization decisions based on scope, schedule, cost or resource adjustments.
  • Creates and maintains Program schedules. Tracks and maintains all project deliveries
  • Oversees and directs all projects within the Program
  • Assess Risks and makes pro-active recommendations to project teams
  • Accountable for end-to-end project lifecycle.
  • Works directly with clients so must demonstrate professionalism and ensure client satisfaction is always a top priority
  • Apply subject matter expertise to identify, develop, and implement techniques to improve engagement, increase efficiencies, mitigate risks, resolve issues, and optimize cost savings and efficiencies for each client.
  • Effectively balances competing project constraints including but not limited to scope, quality, schedule, funding, budget, resources, and risk, to manage project success.
  • Connects project objectives to broader organizational goals.
  • Provides input to contracts, reviews contracts to ensure completeness of scope and appropriate accountability based on role and/or responsibility.
  • Negotiates with internal teams to obtain the resources necessary for successful project execution.
  • Establishing the program management functions that drive the overall direction, coordination, execution, and control of a large, complex program with various work streams and ensure consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.
  • Responsible for running complex programs and projects; which includes handling tasks that are involved in designing and development, as well as production.
  • Communications across various levels of stakeholders to drive accountability, escalation and awareness. 
  • Drive the appropriate levels of project governance to ensure risks, issues, and critical dependencies are being addressed.
  • Manages key customers and ensures that their deliverables tie into the overall program targets.
  • Monitors program key performance indicators and ensures that key stakeholders are informed and the team is addressing risk areas.
  • Ensures that all projects follow the standard procedures that are used in the management and deployment of projects.
  • Facilitating and making trade-off decisions between quality, costs, resources, scope and time.
  • Undertakes strategy creation for contingency planning and risk mitigation.
  • Managing all the changes and issues with the stakeholders.
  • Planning for risks which include developing strategies for dealing with potential risks as well as covering them.
  • Overlooking the process aspects of individual projects as well as other aspects of release oversight.
  • Undertaking early release definition and scope negotiation.
  • Responsible for planning and scheduling project goals, milestones and deliverable.
  • Defines resources for project and program implementation.
  • Oversees and directs the project engineering team and manages conflicts within the different groups.
  • Designs and maintains Program documentation.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in IT
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ industry experience as a Program Manager
  • Expertise with project management methodologies, PMP certification is an asset
  • Proven ability to drive large scale projects with high collaboration and leadership
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills
  • Excellent judgment, decision making skills, and the ability to work under continual deadlines and pressure
  • Excellent presentation skills and experience of presenting to executive leadership.
  • Experience in managing SDLC and large-scale IT projects, which included cross-functional resources, on time and within budget
  • Experience with all aspects of a system implementation delivery (gathering requirements, design, development, testing and post implementation activities) (Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring/Controlling, and Closing phases)
  • Experience working with a PMO toolset to manage portfolios, project plans, resources, financials and reporting
  • Strong interpersonal skills, assertive with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical groups
  • Strong written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team and adapt quickly to ever-changing environments
  • Superior time management and problem-solving skills
  • Hardworking, self-motivated, and passionate about learning and working with the latest technologies
  • Ability to travel to travel internationally when required.
