Join our team as a Network Engineer

• You will have your finger on the pulse of the CARFAX network!  Your mission is to always be able to answer the question:  "what just happened?"
• Best part is, you don't have to fix anything - you just need to see it is broken or better yet, figure out it is about to break.
• The network operations team has 3 members and supports a team of 8 network engineers and 2 network DevOps engineers.
• You will use software from  Logic Monitor, Kentik, and Forward Networks to see network status.
• Provide a daily network status report in the morning huddle.  Review logs and monitor alarms throughout the day.

Qualifications

• You are interested in computer networking and learning how it works.
• Advanced diploma relating to computer or network systems or equivalent experience.
• Ability to learn complex software systems (with training).
• Must understand be interested in both traditional and cloud (AWS) environments.
• You must love documentation!  You need to be willing to read it, understand it, and write it.  
• You like to go deep to find out what happened.  If you see a spike in a graph you want to figure out what caused it.

Desired Skills

• Understanding of SNMP, Syslog and NETFLOW is desired, but not required.
• Python is great, but not required; however you should be interested in learning Python.
