Be part of our talented and growing team! We are currently looking for a Specialist, Business Continuity, to join our team, reporting to the Sr Manager, Operational Risk. 

 

The Specialist, Business Continuity will assist the Risk organization with oversight, governance, assessment and execution of operational resiliency programs to drive consistency across the organization.  They will manage the organizations Business Continuity program which includes coordinating with Business Recovery Contacts throughout the organization to develop effective Business Impact Assessments & Continuity Plans, execute periodic testing programs, and support the development of a robust operational resilience posture for the organization.  The successful candidate will liaise with Operational Risk, Third Party Risk, Informational Technology and business leads to develop holistic solutions to business continuity & disaster recovery.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

  • Lead organization-wide engagements to conduct Business Impact Analysis, establish processes for the assessment and analysis of critical business functions, processes, and systems to determine potential risks, impacts, and recovery priorities.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to identify vendor and technology interdependencies, documenting findings and recommendations, and supporting business units in developing adequate recovery strategies for their critical business processes.
  • Facilitate the creation, maintenance, and regular updating of business continuity plans and. Ensure plans are well-documented, actionable, and aligned with industry best practices.
  • Partner with technology teams to provide advisory on the development, implementation, testing and maintenance of comprehensive IT Disaster Recovery plans and procedures.
  • Support incident response efforts during business disruptions, disasters, or other emergencies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and effective incident response and crisis management, communication, and recovery efforts.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance overall business continuity and disaster recovery preparedness. Promote awareness and understanding of business continuity principles and procedures across all levels of the organization.
  • Facilitate the development and delivery of periodic testing (ie. Table Top Testing, Simulation Exercises, Call Tree Exercises) and ongoing improvement of the response, recovery and restoration strategies and plans.
  • Partner with other Operational Resilience teams (ie. Operational Risk, Third Party Risk, Information Technology) to develop holistic solutions that leverage shared assessments and data sets.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on business continuity activities for presentation to various management committees.
  • Develop and maintain applicable Policy or framework and Standards related to the Business Continuity Program.
  • Support the identification of Business Continuity related risks (internal / external), the assessment of their likelihood, as well as potential impacts and risk mitigation plans.
  • Proactively identify and implement BCP program and process improvements.

 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a pertinent field
  • 2-5 years of experience with Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Programs
  • Experience with development of workflows, documentation & tracking tools considered an asset
  • Experience/knowledge of, crisis management, disaster recovery processes is an asset
  • Demonstrate leadership and a capability of providing recommendations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills: Ability to clearly convey and receive information and to initiate and facilitate discussions with senior management, colleagues, the field and our vendors
  • Intermediate MS Office experience
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset
