Associate Product Manager – Magic: The Gathering Online

Are you a Product Manager who is also a player of Magic: The Gathering?

Big Blue Bubble is seeking a skilled, motivated, and talented Associate Product Manager who is also a casual player of Magic: The Gathering.  This is a unique opportunity to combine your passion for the MTG global franchise with your strong customer support, marketing and data analytic skills as this role is accountable working with Customer Support, Community, Premier Play, and the Game Team to translate customer needs into game initiatives and improvements.

In this position, these are the things you will be responsible for:

  • Working with the Game Team to execute the product vision, strategy, and business model.
  • Developing criteria for customer segmentation using Business Intelligence resources.
  • Analyzing feedback from players via social channels, surveys, and other means with help from the Community team, then advises on game improvement actions for the Game Team.
  • Collaborating with communications and marketing teams to plan and deliver public announcements and conversations.
  • Interacting with gaming communities to understand trends, develop use cases, and apply them to business initiatives
  • Coordinating a variety of recurring, cross-functional processes across teams and companies: event creation, Premier Play invitations, Magic Online Champions Showcase, and more.
  • Establishing and optimizing processes in obtaining Cube content for use in the game.
  • Helping build and deliver successful card set releases using a variety of tools.
  • Troubleshooting issues with the team to support Magic Online as a live service.

To be an effective team member, you will have:

  • A strong mix of innovative and technical experience from a live service environment (gaming experience is a plus).
  • Proven communication, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Experience translating customer needs into business actions.
  • Demonstrable experience in problem solving and issue management skills,
  • Previous experience managing live service outages in real time is a plus
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices preferred
  • Intermediate-level Magic: The Gathering rules knowledge (experience as a tournament Judge or online support is a plus).
  • Familiarity with the Magic: The Gathering Premier Play system preferred
