This position will be responsible for making reasonable and informed business decisions for the Mechanical Design of Pall Water systems. Responsibilities of this role includes creating project design and fabrication drawings. Assisting the project engineer with the creation of project Bills of Materials and other engineering deliverable documents. 

Essential Job Functions:

• Generate customer/vendor quotation drawings, customer approval/ certified drawings, and detail and shop/ fabrication drawings, with adherence to Pall drafting standards.

• Generate project technical submittals: including design drawings, valve lists, instrument lists, instructions, fabrication specifications to provide instructions to manufacturing facilities, and other documents required by the project specifications.

• Assist project engineers/teams during peak engineering times and while engineers are out of the office.

• Evaluate and interpret customer specifications with regards to implementation into required PALL project technical submittals.

• Evaluate and interpret manufacturer and vendor information to select system components in accordance with specified requirements, and to balance functionality with cost effectiveness.

• Assist with generating project technical submittals: equipment specifications, instructions, and other documents required by the project specifications.

• Review Mechanical Specifications and support Applications Engineering during quoting process, including estimating mechanical design hours.

• Responsible for participating in the continuous improvement of departmental methods, procedures, and tools.  Investigate and recommend improvements in our methods, electrical designs, and/or systems components, to improve quality and reduce cost of our systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Two-year technical degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a design / engineering environment required.  Must have proficiency in CAD design with specific experience using Autodesk Inventor software.

• Demonstrated skills in successful application of design standards.

• Consistently demonstrate ability to learn new technology and look for innovative ways to improve product and procedures.
