Human Resources Generalist

What would a typical day look like?

 

Responsible for owning the entire employee life cycle and employee experience as it relates to wellness, benefits, saving products, perks, recognition, employee programs and policies.

 

Benefits, Wellness and Rewards:

  • Support the promotion of fostering a culture of health and wellness, educating employees, management and prospective new hires on existing company offerings, benefits and programs while seeking opportunities to continually improve and enhance the employee experience
  • End to end administration of all medical benefits, life insurance and long-term disability programs: enrollments, billing and termination activities
  • Education, communication and execution of RRSP and 401K plans
  • New hire orientation and education to new hires on all benefits, rewards and perks, leveraging the HRIS system to enhance the delivery of information
  • Develop and maintain strong educational materials, communication of offerings, changes and processes to employees, respond to all employee inquiries
  • Ensure benefit plans are administered according to plan provisions and regulatory guidelines
  • Management of employee programs, perks, subsidies, and scholarship programs while continually seeking to enhance and innovate to deliver on a world class employee experience
  • Provide support in reporting, documentation, and analysis on employee compensation

 

HR Operations:

  • Support the accurate record keeping for all employee information and changes; from commencement to offboarding of employees in accordance with company policy and HRIS system (BambooHR) and internal processes
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting, letters and information requests to management, employees, Human Resources and Talent Acquisition teams
  • Execution, analysis and reporting responsibility for all surveys (internal and external: eNPS, Wellbeing, GPTW, Manager 360)
  • Provide support to Human Resources Business Partners on employee changes, performance management program, employee inquiries and supporting through the exit process
  • Administer corporate social responsibility, perks, rewards, recognition and service anniversary programs
  • Provide support in staying apprised of employment standards and legislation changes and subsequent revisions to company policies, processes, templates as required
  • Support with implementation and education, of HR policies throughout the organization
  • Follow Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs) and process workflows. Participate and contribute to the pro-active review and implementation of process improvements and enhancements with a focus on a world class employee experience
  • Complete special projects as assigned

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite / Teams software. Advanced knowledge in Excel
  • Ability to work independently in an environment where interruptions are routine and frequent
  • Internet savvy with the ability to navigate and manage employee benefits changes on multiple carrier websites
  • Must be results driven, passionate, and flexible to contribute to a high-performance culture and a great place to work
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR/Business or related field; or equivalent work experience, CHRP, Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) would be an asset
  • Proven work experience in an HR function with specialization in total rewards and employee experience
  • Experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) is an asset
  • Passion/desire to leverage systems to enhance process, efficiencies improvements and delivering a world class experience
  • Passionate about optimizing systems to enhance experience for employees and managers
  • Experience in Canadian and US group benefits and RRSP, 401K administration is an asset
  • An ability to travel; although this position is focused on local clients and minimal travel is required, you should have the ability to travel within US and Canada.
