StarTech.com is seeking a forward-thinking and experienced Talent Acquisition (TA) Specialist to join our People & Culture team.  Acting as a trusted talent advisor, the TA Specialist will be instrumental in building relationships with hiring leaders at all levels while demonstrating strong commercial acumen and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

With extensive experience in full-cycle recruitment, they will provide comprehensive support to Hiring Managers across all lines of business, functional departments, and countries. Leveraging relevant market data and all available talent acquisition resources, they will develop and implement appropriate strategies to identify, attract, select, and present top talent for consideration. On an as needed basis, the TA Specialist will lead, or actively participate in, People and Culture projects designed to establish StarTech.com as a career destination of choice. Please note this is a hybrid opportunity (Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday in office each week and Monday/Friday from home).

What you will be responsible for:

Talent Sourcing and Selection

  • Support all lines of business and or functional departments by partnering with hiring managers to provide proactive and collaborative support through the recruitment lifecycle (front line and professional roles)
  • Create talent pipelines through on-line talent communities, job applications, on-campus and networking events, social media, and employee referrals in order to reduce time-to-fill and create brand awareness
  • Source, phone screen and interview applicants and presents credible candidates to Hiring Manager for their consideration
  • Take all available steps to ensure presented candidates reflect the diversity of the community where StarTech.com operates
  • Prepare and negotiate job offers and relocation as required
  • Build an ongoing understanding of our industries and national/local markets to ensure StarTech.com is a front runner in market for talent
  • Develop actionable sourcing strategies and manage Campus Talent Acquisition process to enable the attainment of business hiring plans requirements
  • Ensure compliance with all regional and international employment standards throughout the candidate selection and hiring process by becoming knowledgeable of appropriate legislations

Talent Advisory

  • Act as a subject matter expert during the recruitment and selection process and take a leadership role in the development and execution of recruitment strategies
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop an appropriate interview slate and establish requisite skills and competencies in order to identify the right talent
  • Participate in candidate selection by acting as counsel to hiring managers and candidates alike to level set expectations and facilitate the flow of information
  • Ensure that the selection process is fair, equitable, and free of any bias by keeping hiring manager/s focused on job skills and competencies

Project Management

  • Act as a leader on various Talent Acquisition and/or People and Culture projects
  • Accountable for the overall success and on-time/budget delivery of projects
  • Secure necessary resources and partnerships necessary for project success

Essential Qualifications:

  • Post secondary degree or diploma in a related discipline
  • A minimum of 3 years full-cycle corporate talent acquisition experience
  • A minimum of 3 years Hiring Manager coaching and advisory experience
  • Experienced in sourcing top-tier talent for specialized technical positions
  • Skilled in leveraging LinkedIn Recruiter (Talent Solutions) for posting open roles and sourcing top talent
  • Proficient in engaging with talent communities on platforms like LinkedIn and Indeed
  • Knowledge of current labour market trends
  • Ability to clearly communicate with candidates and hiring managers in writing, over the phone, in person and video-conferencing (Microsoft Teams)
  • Well-versed in utilizing the Microsoft suite of products and applicant tracking systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in sourcing candidates on a global scale
  • CHRP or CHRL designation (or equivalent)
  • Experience building relationships with post-secondary institutions for the purpose of attracting new graduates and co-op students/interns
