StarTech.com is looking for a dynamic Manager, Product Compliance to join our team. Reporting to the VP of Product Development, you'll be the go-to expert on our product portfolio's compliance across all regions. This role is crucial in shaping our product strategy and supporting our international expansion. In this role, you will be expected to work alongside direct reports and actively participate in research, project plans development and execution of strategy with lab and manufacturers, working alongside any direct reports.
You'll ensure our products meet global standards for EMI/EMC, safety, energy efficiency, health and environment, ESG, CSR, trade, and packaging. Your work will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, engaging with regulatory bodies, and developing a cohesive global compliance strategy.

What you will be responsible for:
Research and Implementation:
- Develop and maintain regulatory compliance for StarTech.com's product portfolio globally.
- Collaborate with third-party services, government agencies, and consultants to understand and implement regional requirements.
- Communicate local/regional regulations effectively across departments and external associations.
- Manage compliance roadmaps and detailed project plans.
- Ensure timely product compliance by working closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Oversee compliance databases and automate customer-facing reports.
- Maintain accurate compliance data for all markets.
- Create documentation and reports to manage compliance across products and regions.
- Guide product teams during design reviews to achieve timely compliance.
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead the Product Compliance team in executing compliance strategies for all markets and products.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to team members, managing their daily activities.
- Balance strategic leadership with hands-on involvement to meet team objectives.
Customer Support:
- Understand customer requirements and provide necessary documentation promptly.
- Offer regulatory expertise and timely updates to both internal and external customers.
Essential Qualifications:
- 3-year Technical Diploma or Electrical Engineering degree, OACETT certification or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of international regulatory compliance experience in a testing lab or consumer electronics engineering development environment.
- Proven experience working with regulatory labs and standards for certifying consumer electronics products.
- In-depth understanding of global consumer electronics, EMC/EMI, and product safety standards (e.g., UL, FCC, CE).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effectively conveying complex legal and compliance information to stakeholders.
- Strong business acumen to align compliance strategies with overall business goals.
- Proven ability to manage and lead team members, including coaching and engaging employees in daily tasks.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency with data analytics tools.
- Ability to research and stay updated on the latest compliance regulations, trends, risks, and opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with environmental sustainability requirements (e.g., RoHS, REACh, energy efficiency).
- Experience with ESG and CSR policies.
- Knowledge of wire and cable products, wireless and networking products, power supplies, computer hardware, and accessories, along with their regulatory requirements.
