ERP and IT Systems Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled ERP and IT Systems Specialist with expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and associated systems. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of its modules, functionalities, and customization options. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams and ERP support partners to optimize and enhance our Business Central environment, ensuring it effectively supports our business operations and strategic objectives.
This role encompasses programming, enhancing, maintaining, and coding Business Central solutions, along with interfacing to various external systems, such as Shopify and Purolator. Proficiency in the Microsoft 365 environment, Entra ID, and their administration, particularly in relation to Business Central is also highly advantageous. The successful candidate will also be required to support the Network Support Technician and Director of Information Technology with maintenance and support of IT systems as required.
This position reports directly to the Director of Information Technology and is primarily based at our head office in the downtown heart of London, Ontario with hybrid flexibility.
Salary Range: $65-$75 dependent on depth of knowledge and experience.

Accountabilities
- Responsible for identifying and fixing data issues.
- Compile source reference data for easier analytics.
- Coordinate with manager and consultants/developers any development changes required by external consultants.
- Investigate potential performance improvements and new functionalities in ERP.
- Test and develop any customization / coding with consultants as needed.
- Responsible for all ERP configurations and support issues.
- Responsible for ERP upgrades. Coordinate with team all infrastructure needs to support upgrades.
- Research future ERP requirements and upgrades as needed.
- Perform ERP validation.
- Design, improve, and sustain Business Central solutions by developing and coding custom extensions in AL, custom APIs, reports, and integrations (e.g., Power BI, Shopify, Jet).
- Create automations utilizing Power Automate to develop more efficient workflows for the user.
- Oversee testing and support for Microsoft’s new releases, including communicating new capabilities, scheduling, and updating/managing sandbox environments for testing.
- Perform continuous review of ongoing data structure and validity for reporting across the organization and integration with external systems following ERP upgrades, new releases, and customizations.
- Deliver technical support, diagnose issues, and resolve complex problems related to Business Central and its integrations.
- Create and maintain documentation for customizations, processes, and workflows, and offer training and support to end-users to ensure effective system utilization.
- Optimize and enhance existing and new capabilities using extension marketplace applications and artificial intelligence.
- Maintain new and existing user permissions and develop a flexible user/role/profile structure for accurate control and the ability to efficiently respond to requests as needed.
- Lead technical initiatives for the enhancement of ERP functionality and integrations to support ongoing and constant development of business processes throughout the organization (e.g. MPS, MRP, EDI, CRM, Handheld Scanners implementation)
- Perform comprehensive testing of customizations and updates to ensure they meet performance and functionality standards.
Software, Network, and System Administration Support
- This position involves occasional support for IT training, hardware and software issues, and general IT-related operational tasks.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Computer Programming, Networking or Computer Science or a post-secondary education in Business combined with related IT experience.
- 2+ years of related IT systems and software development experience.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Proficiency with Mac and PC platforms.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, encompassing implementation, customization, configuration, and full-time support.
- Strong analytical skills - knowledge of SQL, Power Query, Power BI, Jet Reports would be considered a strong asset.
- Proficiency in AL programming language, Business Central extensions, API development, and integrations. Essential experience includes coding and interfacing with connectors for external systems such as Shopify and Purolator.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to convert complex business requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Outstanding verbal, written communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects, multitask, work independently, and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications in Business Central or Dynamics 365 are highly preferred.
- Keeps abreast of leading-edge technologies with a focus in industry technologies and a willingness to innovate.
- Demonstrates knowledge in various IT functions, processes, and capabilities (e.g. networking, security, infrastructure, information management cloud technologies, etc.).
