Role/Responsibilities:
- Working with key stakeholders to understand project requirements and develop innovative, intuitive, and attractive user experiences that simplify complex tasks.
- Educate and articulate the thinking & strategy behind your work and design decisions.
- Ability to take on multiple UI/UX projects at the same time, working with different team members for direction and approval.
- Develop mock-ups/wireframe diagrams and iterating based on client/stakeholder feedback.
- Develop responsive HTML/CSS UI prototypes to support developers and other team members.
- Improve existing HTML/CSS layouts with responsive elements.
- Ability to develop graphical assets (photos, illustrations, motion graphics) and UI templates to support various web and related projects.
- Support and implement solutions using WordPress to accommodate marketing initiatives.
- Tier 1 triage of incoming technical support cases by email and phone. (Solve issues or escalate to appropriate party.)
- Develop troubleshooting guides, instructions, helpful resources, scripts, and procedures to solve common customer complaints/issues.
- Train and educate customers on new features and existing functionality.
- Follow coding guidelines/standard practices and writing technical documentation as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Essential: Able to work both in a team environment & individually on assigned tasks (on site and remotely).
- Essential: A strong portfolio demonstrating a diversity of web-based design that encompasses UI/UX expertise, responsive design, creativity and critical thinking.
- Essential: 3+ years UI/UX Design experience.
- Essential: Experience using leading graphic design/illustration tools (Adobe Creative Suite), specifically Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, etc.
- Essential: Experience developing mock-up/wireframe diagrams using tools.
- Essential: Knowledge optimizing for Responsive Design (mobile, tablet, desktop).
- Important: Experience developing UI/UX for business applications.
- Important: A strong sense of visual design and attention to detail (graphics, icons, fonts, layout, colour patterns).
- Important: Experience providing technical support by email/phone, including identifying/following customer-specific protocols/procedures
- Important: Experience with JavaScript Frameworks such as React, Vue.js, Angular, Knockout, etc.
- Important: Knowledge of programming environments, languages and tools: PHP, Microsoft .NET (C#), JavaScript
- Important: Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Asset: Experience with common CMS systems such as WordPress.
- Asset: Experience with Jira and/or related ticketing systems.
- Asset: Comfortable training and presenting features and functionality.
- Asset: Experience with print layout and related tools (Adobe InDesign, etc.).
- Asset: Experience with video production, 3D, and video post-production.
- The ability to inspire and change minds with new ideas, visions
