At CARFAX we are constantly EXPANDING our product and technology offerings!  This means we are continually bringing new, innovative products to market through exciting technology initiatives to help our customers.  We’re seeking an Associate Project Manager to focus on defining, planning, and implementing a diverse set of projects within the organization.  You’ll work hand in hand with a large team of project managers and analysts, a driven set of technologists, and business and technology leaders from across the enterprise.  You’ll leverage and balance a passion for agile software development with application of sound project management practices.  You’ll thrive in a team environment where you are well supported and can help launch “BEST-IN-MARKET” products for our customers.
 

 As an Associate Project Manager you will:

  • Be responsible for all aspects of project management and agile development team ceremonies. Additional responsibilities may include: analysis, project delivery validation (QA/UAT), and other duties as assigned with some coaching and support
  • Develop and refine project plans specifying goals, staffing, scheduling, risks, and contingency plans
  • Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using a variety of techniques to keep the project plan accurate, updated, and reflective of authorized project changes
  • Capture and track dependencies across teams and collaborate with other project managers and team leaders to ensure overall project is completed within the parameters of the plan
  • Ensure a common understanding across stakeholders and team members by setting and managing expectations in accordance with the project plan
  • Gather, articulate, and represent project requirements for our agile software development teams
  • Proactively identify and plan for risks as well as implement approved actions and workarounds to mitigate risk events in order to minimize the impact to the project
  • Lead single-team assessments for projects in the Concept phase and drive the conversion of conceptual ideas into actionable and clearly understood project deliverables with feasible delivery timelines  
  • Establish and cultivate relationships with other departments and organizations to recognize and actively manage dependencies associated with projects
  • Generate key project deliverables and facilitate their review
  • Develop and manage working relationship(s) with business stakeholders to facilitate project intake, define requirements, coordinate priorities, and solve problems
  • Facilitate project team meetings to ensure communication is clear and teams are aligned

 Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree AND zero to three (0-3) years of relevant work experience
  • Ability to be proactive and independent, with the ability to distinguish the need to and ability to seek guidance from more seasoned project management staff
  • Demonstrated organizational and planning skills based on previous education and/or business project
  • Ability to execute on tasks that are sometimes vaguely defined using analytical skills, available research, and by seeking guidance from more seasoned project management staff
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to learn and apply the use of proven project management practices and tools
  • Excellent Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time

 Desired Qualifications:

  • Desire to pragmatically improve PM-related processes
  • Passion for project-focused team leadership and execution
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) certification such as the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification through the Scrum Alliance Experience with the Atlassian Suite – Confluence/Jira
Note: The summer 4-day work week is a test program in 2021 and not guaranteed in future years.
