Responsibilities:
  • Transform 2D reference and concept art into mobile-ready 3D assets
  • Work through all stages of the art pipeline: high-poly sculpting, hard-surface modeling, retopology, UV-mapping, baking and texturing
  • Collaborate with animator(s) to ensure models are animation-ready
  • Contribute innovative ideas and creative artistic concepts to the team
  • Assemble models and textures into prefabs inside the Unity engine with the support of the development team
  • Actively participate in the feedback loop - giving and receiving constructive criticism and well-deserved praise
  • Support other artists, sharing your accumulated knowledge and mentoring others in digital and traditional art techniques
  • Effectively prioritize tasks and deliver work on schedule

 

Is this you?
  • 1+ years’ previous experience in the video game industry
  • University arts degree with specialization in graphic design, game development or animation OR college diploma in graphic design or game development
  • A portfolio that demonstrates exceptional 3D art and animation work
  • Experience with game-ready production pipeline and PBR material creation
  • Skilled in modeling, texturing, and optimization; as well as rigging and animation
  • Possess exemplary oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with 3DS Max, Maya or Blender; ZBrush; Substance Painter
  • Possess an unyielding passion for 3D art and animation

 

Bonus points:
  • Experience with Substance Designer, Substance Alchemist or Quixel Mixer
  • Traditional art background or experience
  • Strong composition skills and an understanding of colour theory
  • Animation and/or rigging knowledge is a huge bonus
  • A keen aesthetic eye
