These include establishing technological strategies, overseeing project management, conducting analyses, developing system architectures, engaging in software design and testing, as well as offering ongoing operational support for our business division.

Our team, based in Toronto/London/Winnipeg, has a vacancy for a Senior Strategy & Planning Analyst who will concentrate on enhancing our Portfolio Management and Governance service through ongoing improvement efforts. The position may grow to encompass tasks such as financial and data analysis, use of portfolio management tools like MS Power Platform, designing processes, crafting proposals, and managing knowledge.

 

What you will do:

 

As a member of the IW/IS/AN Technology Portfolio Management & Governance’s strategy and planning team, your role will be centered around data analysis, research, proposal development, and executing strategic improvement initiatives within the division. Responsibilities will encompass the following, among others:

 

Strategy & Planning (75%)

  • Lead monthly financial forecasting and variance analysis across multiple technology portfolios
  • Coordinate and facilitate data collection and synthesis
  • Collaborate with leaders at all levels to develop long-range, strategic goals for IW/IS/AN Technology
  • Support the assessment, strategy development and planning associated with new capabilities, new improvement initiatives and other strategic efforts, partnering with leaders or other resources as necessary
  • Support the Director on any operational reviews and ad hoc projects, or presentation development
  • Provide guidance on organizational strategy, scorecards, and metric design
  • Responsible for analyzing, and synthesizing data, and making related recommendations; producing technical and general reports, articles, graphics, dashboards, and/or other layouts for documents to present information and facilitate data-driven decision making
  • Support the planning, development, and implementation of portfolio management and governance information technology solutions, principles, standards, and best practices
  • Support the development of a knowledge management framework

Process Improvement & Tooling (25%)

  • Help plan schedule, develop agendas, manage documentation and track follow up actions for all Strategy & Planning improvement activities
  • Drive complex cross-functional change into the organisation through the application of ‘best in class’ project, programme and change management in a sustainable way
  • Responsible for driving the development and implementation of internal tooling to support administration
  • Drive and influence data quality, proactively identifying any issues and solutions.
  • Drive operational excellence by eliciting requirements for process improvement, tool improvement and exploiting the standard operation of the PM&G tools and systems. Support the ongoing development of the tools & systems and partake in technical workshops to define and coordinate implementation of future changes.
  • Promote and nurture a consistent use policy on the standard toolset.

 

What you will bring:

  • Minimum 10 years of proven PMO/Project/Program Manager or Business/Systems Analyst experience and knowledge of portfolio management (resource capacity management, financial management is an asset)
  • PMP and PROSCI certifications are preferred
  • Experience helping to coordinate an organizations data collection and analysis process
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate), Jira, Confluence, SharePoint a must.
  • Familiarity with SAP, Apptio, BRS
  • Must be self-motivated, organized, and able to multi-task in an environment of ever-changing processes and priorities
  • Attention to details, ability to analyze and evaluate information and render effective decisions
  • Proven experience in providing service to internal stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes
  • Understanding of the principles and frameworks of successful project management from a support perspective
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, build consensus and promote the exchange of information among stakeholders
  • Ability to provide high quality work utilizing highly developed and effective communication (written and verbal), project management, time management, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to handle ambiguity in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent tasks and changing priorities.
  • Be a Strategic and Analytical thinker; you have a natural curiously to learn new processes/systems and an eager eye to improve processes.

The base salary for this position is between  $74000 - $114000 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
