Electronics Designer Support - 12 Month Internship

POSTING

In this role, you will:

• Assist with the design of power electronics for UV light sources, working under the supervision of a senior power electronics designer.
• Research, analyze and apply conversion topologies and control circuits for power circuit designs.
• Prototype, test, and troubleshoot power electronics assemblies.
• Support thermal design, analysis, and testing.
• Create and maintain documentation including schematic, bills of materials, drawings, and technical reports.
• Support full development cycle from concept through volume manufacturing
• Assist with design, construction, and deployment of test fixtures.
• Use programming tools to program and debug micro-controller devices
• Apply systematic problem-solving process.

Are you qualified? The essential requirements of the job include:

• Enrolled in post-secondary education, Electrical / Electronics / Computer Engineering or Technology program with interest in the following technology areas:
  • ADC/DAC power conversion circuit design
  • Linear and switching power supply design
  • Application of microcontrollers
  • Design for safety and EMC compliance
  • PCB design
  • Selection and application of magnetic devices.
• Technical documentation skills (for Design Specifications, Block Diagrams and Test Plans.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Effective written and verbal communications skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Able to work collaboratively with a team where striving for continuous improvement is expected and valued.
