ABOUT THIS POSITION

Digital Extremes is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our team. Working under the direction of the Controller, your responsibilities will include ensuring effective and efficient delivery of day-to-day accounting activities, coordinating financial audits, and assisting with the evaluation and development of processes and internal controls. Beyond the day-to-day financial responsibilities, the Accounting Manager is expected to help implement best practices for the department, be able to provide analysis/input on complex financial issues, and work with the entire finance team to ensure timely and accurate accounting records. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem solving skills, and is comfortable responding to shifting demands in a challenging and fast paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Compilation of month-end internal reporting; semi-annual Financial Statement preparation & audits; ensuring completeness and accuracy
  • Perform balance sheet and income statement analysis, monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts, review, prepare and record journal entries
  • Create detailed, well organized and efficient Excel schedules to support account balances, analysis or adjustments
  • Work collaboratively with the Financial Reporting Manager to develop and improve business reporting
  • Perform accounting analysis for complex transactions and/or new accounting standards & amendments
  • Supervise the department’s bank, A/R, A/P, and payroll functions including detailed review of journal entries and working papers, establishing best practices throughout
  • Monitor and continue to develop internal controls
  • Provide innovative recommendations on improving current processes
  • Assist in developing & maintaining documentation for department policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements by keeping up to date with current legislation
  • Participate in special projects and other accounting functions and analysis as necessary, including system conversions, due diligence, and merchandise reporting
  • Other duties as required

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 years of experience in a similar role or with public accounting experience
  • A degree in accounting or business; CPA designation is preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills (eg. PivotTables, conditional formatting, complex nested formulas)
  • Well-organized and highly detail oriented
  • A self-starter; willing to take initiative
  • Ability to work independently, using sound judgement and under strict deadlines
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Available to work flexible hours according to department needs (monthly reporting deadlines, year end)
  • Work remotely: Temporary until a return to office
