Expected hiring range: $70,000.00-$80,000.00. Placement in the range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity and candidate experience, skills and qualifications relevant to the role.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Manager, Marketing Communications is a strategic, data-driven leader who works  collaboratively with the team, the President’s Office and program and functional teams to develop  go-to-market strategies and campaigns that increase program uptake and the organization’s national profile. The incumbent also supports the administration of the Marketing Communications team. The incumbent will provide day-to-day mentorship and advice to team members and contributing to the work planning and budget for the team.

What You’ll Be Doing
Lead with Purpose & Vision
  • Inspire, mentor, and empower a high-performing team of marketing communications professionals, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Guide individual growth, set clear performance objectives, and ensure effective workload management within the team
  • Work closely with the Director, Marketing Communications, to contribute to the development of Marketing Communications strategies
  • Be a champion for your team's development, helping them reach new heights
Architect Digital Excellence:
  • Drive a data-first approach, leveraging analytics (e.g., Google Analytics 4, social insights, CRM data) to unearth trends, measure campaign effectiveness, and inform strategic decisions.
  • Champion Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) efforts across all digital touchpoints
  • Stay relentlessly curious about emerging digital trends and technologies, constantly exploring new ways to enhance our digital footprint and engagement.
Craft Compelling Campaigns:
  • Develop and implement integrated marketing communications go-to-market plans that amplify our mission, attract new program users, and engage with our existing community of educators
  • Develop and oversee the creation of high-quality, on-brand content – from program campaigns, school board campaigns, and conference promotions to engaging social media campaigns and inspiring video stories – ensuring every piece drives connection and action
  • Maintain a consistent and authentic brand voice that resonates deeply with our diverse audiences
Navigate a Complicated Stakeholder Ecosystem:
  • Leverage your understanding of complicated, national business models and English and French audiences to tailor marketing communications strategies that address sector-specific challenges and opportunities.
  • Develop campaigns that speak to the unique motivations and needs of educators in Canada
  • Understand the nuances of conveying impact and engagement in a purpose-driven environment
 Collaboration for Collective Impact:
  • o Work seamlessly with internal stakeholders across programs, operations, technology and
  • leadership to ensure integrated communications that support organizational goals
  • o Manage relationships with external agencies, vendors, and publishers, ensuring high-quality,
  • cost-effective deliverables
  • o Actively participate in the management of Let’s Talk Science and its programs, including
  • participating in key committees, attending meetings regularly and bringing forward issues for
  • prioritization, discussion and decision
  • o Ensure activities under management operate within the policies and procedures of the
  • organization and comply with all relevant legislation and professional standards
Measure, Adapt, Evolve:
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for all campaigns, providing regular, insightful reports to leadership
  • Continuously test, learn, and iterate on strategies based on performance data and market feedback
• Other duties as requested/required that are under the scope of the position

Our Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
Education
  • Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field. Equivalent education or demonstrated experience will be considered
Experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in marketing communications, with at least 5 years in a dedicated people management role
Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated expertise in digital marketing, including proficiency with SEO/SEM, social media strategy and execution, email marketing platforms, content marketing, and web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics 4, Clarity)
  • Deep understanding of marketing within a complicated sector with national reach. You understand the unique communication challenges and opportunities
  • Exceptional strategic thinking capabilities, with a track record of developing and executing successful, integrated marketing communication plans
  • Proven ability to analyze complex data sets, draw actionable insights, and translate them into clear, strategic recommendations
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with a portfolio that showcases your ability to craft compelling narratives for diverse audiences
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple projects and priorities while leading a virtual team
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills along with demonstrated creativity and innovative thinking
  • Ability to operate on a strategic level including foreseeing potential impacts of the operating environment and managing risk
  • Willingness to travel to meetings and other events as required
  • Ability to work outside regular hours on occasion
  • Bilingual in English and French a strong asset
  • Experience in the charitable and/or education sectors is an asset
Your Key Working Relationships
  • Reports to the Director, Marketing Communications
  • Works closely with other Marketing Communications team members, Technology, Finance, Data & Impact, Program and External Relations teams
  • Collaborates regularly with staff across the organization
  • Leads Let’s Talk Science’s relationship with Marketing Communications vendors and other partners, as assigned.
