We are seeking to fill a new role in our manufacturing facility for a Quality Manager.  This is an exciting opportunity to create, build and implement processes that are vital to ensuring internal, external and supplier quality.  This role will manage a team of 4-5 Quality Technicians and oversee the operation of Industrial & Municipal Quality Department with a focus on driving improved problem solving and permanent countermeasure resolution.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement and maintain the Quality Management System in conformity with Danaher Business System (DBS) requirements.

  • Ensure that requirements are effectively established and maintained, with a risk-based proactive and preventive approach, and report on performance.

  • Monitor and prioritize the organizations’ quality system, identifying non-conformances and recommending or taking corrective actions.

  • Manage a strong cross-functional team through direct training and coaching of all team members achieving the best quality product and on time delivery.

  • Promotes a quality culture and compliance mentality though training, mentoring, and visual management practices.

  • Promote continuous improvement through Kaizen activities.

  • Accountable for quality process measurement and monitoring, and for the establishment and maintenance of key process indicators, quality metrics and trending

  • Lead troubleshooting and problem solving of various complex issues in a very dynamic environment.

  • Direct or lead cross functional, cross Business Unit problem solving teams, using 5 Why, 8D, Six Sigma Techniques or other problem-solving techniques; approve and implement solutions and evaluate results.

  • Collaborate with the upper management team to set quality benchmarks

  • Implement process control for obtaining 100% quality-built-in-process

  • Drive & sustain improvements to the main OpCo’s KPI’s, external quality and on-time-delivery, ensuring customer satisfaction through high product quality and reduced delivery lead times

  • Develop, maintain and/or improve standard work instructions used for production, material handling and shipping/receiving activities to assure the best quality product is shipped on time

  • Plan and implement preventative and corrective actions that result from internal and external audits

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Educational background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineer

  • Min 3-5 years’ experience as a quality manager, ideally in a production processing environment; knowledge and experience of formal continuous improvement methodologies (lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, etc.) is crucial  

  • Proven ability to problem solve and implement change

  • Familiar with company and industry quality standards and processes

  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office applications

  • Strong leadership and management skills

Excellent communication – ability to relate to all levels of personnel throughout the organization
