As a key contributor to Northern’s success, the Business Analyst ensures the alignment of client business goals with project outcomes. This role is instrumental in driving the definition, documentation, and validation of requirements throughout the lifecycle of a project. We’re looking for someone passionate about delivering quality and impactful solutions, particularly for commercial and public sector challenges.

 

You’ll manage complex business requirements, break them down into actionable deliverables, and support teams in delivering solutions that provide real value. In addition to requirements gathering, you will facilitate workshops, create user stories, and develop process models, ensuring client goals remain the focus.

 

Adaptability is essential, as our projects often evolve. This role requires resourcefulness, strong communication skills, and the ability to prioritize work effectively while keeping stakeholders aligned and informed.

Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Lead and facilitate sessions with delivery team members to elicit, review, document, and confirm business requirements, business models, and business processes.
  • Advocate for the client’s vision, ensuring alignment with their goals throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Translate business requirements into user stories, functional and technical designs, and tasks within work management tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Build and execute test strategies and plans, ensuring solutions meet business requirements and quality standards.
  • Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) and manage defect resolution.
  • Promote continuous improvement by enhancing business analysis processes and methodologies.

 

Knowledge, Education & Experience Required

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP).
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Functional Consultant on medium to large projects.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies, including sprint planning and iterative development cycles.
  • Proven ability to conduct business analysis reviews, recommend changes, and manage contingency planning.

Bonus Skills!

  • Salesforce core experience (e.g., Sales, Service, Commerce, Knowledge Base).
  • Familiarity with quality assurance methodologies and UAT processes.
  • Exceptional communication and facilitation skills.
