Job Description

Job Description:

Title: Vice President – Infrastructure

Reports to: Chief Technology Officer

The Role:

JD Power is seeking a transformational technology leader to serve as Vice President of Infrastructure, responsible for leading and modernizing the company’s global infrastructure organization. This role oversees approximately 150 employees across production technology operations, end-user technology, and enterprise systems.

JD Power is a Thoma Bravo portfolio company that has grown from $300 million to approximately $900 million in revenue through ten strategic acquisitions since 2019. The largest engineering groups—Autodata Solutions, Autovista Group, and Superior Integrated Solutions / Darwin Automotive—currently operate with separate leaders, organizational structures, development methodologies, tooling, and cultures. You will be responsible for unifying these disparate TechOps groups into a single, high-performing global organization.

This is a highly visible, enterprise-level role requiring deep expertise in infrastructure modernization, cloud and on-premises operations, and organizational transformation. You must be equally effective at setting strategic direction and driving day-to-day operational excellence. A proven track record of leading large-scale infrastructure teams, influencing executive decision-making, and delivering measurable business outcomes in complex, multi-entity environments is essential.

The Impact You Will Have in This Role:

As the VP of Infrastructure, you will be the driving force behind unifying and transforming JD Power’s global infrastructure into a modern, scalable, and operationally excellent function. By consolidating disparate TechOps groups, implementing standardized processes, and creating a culture of urgency and velocity, you will directly accelerate the company’s ability to deliver technology capabilities to market. Your work will establish the foundation for AI-enabled operations, drive top-line growth through increased engineering velocity, and deliver bottom-line efficiency through organizational optimization. You will provide executive leadership with full transparency into work in progress, release schedules, and capacity allocation—ensuring infrastructure is a strategic enabler rather than a bottleneck.

What You’ll Be Doing in This Role:

Infrastructure Transformation & Organizational Unification

  • Unify TechOps Organizations: Consolidate the infrastructure teams across acquired entities into a single global function with consistent processes, tooling, titles, and culture.

  • Drive Cultural Transformation: Instill a culture of urgency, ownership, and a bias toward action across all infrastructure teams globally, embracing AI-powered agentic workflows to accelerate velocity.

  • Design Organizational Structure: Implement a structure that streamlines operations and optimizes for velocity, eliminating redundancies and establishing clear ownership, accountability, and escalation paths across approximately 150 employees.

  • Build Talent Pipeline: Drive workforce planning, skills development, and talent acquisition to ensure the organization has the capabilities required for a modern, cloud-forward infrastructure environment.

Production Technology Operations

  • Own Core Infrastructure: Operate and optimize on-premises and cloud data centers, networking, server and container virtualization, operating systems, databases, and L3 customer system support.

  • Drive Cloud Modernization: Lead cloud migration and modernization initiatives, optimizing the balance between on-premises and cloud infrastructure for cost, performance, and reliability.

  • Establish Operational Excellence: Define and enforce SLAs, incident management, disaster recovery, and business continuity standards across the entire infrastructure estate.

  • Implement Observability & Automation: Deploy robust monitoring, observability, and automation to improve system reliability and reduce mean time to resolution.

Desktop Technology Operations & AI Enablement

  • Manage End-User Technology: Oversee employee hardware lifecycle management, productivity software deployment, and L2 internal user support across a global workforce.

  • Champion AI Adoption: Drive enterprise-wide adoption of AI-powered tools and agentic workflows across the infrastructure organization, creating a culture of velocity through intelligent automation.

  • Evaluate Emerging Tools: Continuously assess, pilot, and roll out AI productivity software that enhances employee effectiveness and operational efficiency.

Enterprise Systems

  • Optimize Enterprise Platforms: Manage and optimize the enterprise systems portfolio including NetSuite (Finance), Coupa (Procurement), Workday (HR), and Salesforce (Sales), ensuring alignment with business processes and organizational needs.

  • Partner with Business Leaders: Collaborate with Finance, Procurement, HR, and Sales leadership to translate operational requirements into system capabilities and drive adoption.

  • Manage Vendor Relationships: Oversee vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and total cost of ownership for enterprise platforms.

Planning, Delivery & Transparency

  • Own Quarterly Planning: Establish a rigorous quarterly planning process with strong commitment to frequent, predictable releases across all infrastructure services.

  • Deliver Transparency: Provide real-time visibility to the executive team and organization on work in progress, scheduled release dates, and capacity mapped to strategic initiatives.

  • Build Dashboards & Reporting: Develop and maintain dashboards that give real-time visibility into infrastructure health, project delivery, and resource utilization.

  • Drive Efficiency: Deliver top-line growth enablement and bottom-line efficiency through infrastructure optimization, cost management, and strategic investment recommendations.

Qualifications of this Role:

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in infrastructure technology leadership.

  • 5+ years in a VP or senior director role overseeing large, globally distributed infrastructure teams.

  • Proven success transforming infrastructure organizations in multi-entity or post-acquisition environments.

  • Deep expertise in data center operations, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), networking, virtualization, container orchestration, and database management.

  • Strong experience managing enterprise systems such as NetSuite, Workday, Salesforce, or Coupa in a complex, multi-business-unit environment.

  • Demonstrated success implementing operational excellence frameworks, including ITIL, SRE practices, and DevOps methodologies.

  • Hands-on experience with or strong conviction about AI-assisted tools and automation practices within infrastructure and operations teams.

  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire urgency, set high standards, and develop talent at all levels.

  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence C-suite decision-making and provide strategic counsel.

  • Experience operating in private equity-backed or high-growth environments with a focus on both growth and operational efficiency.

  • Experience in data-intensive or analytics-driven businesses, particularly in automotive, financial services, or information services sectors (preferred).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

The Hiring Manager says:

“I’m looking for a hands-on, transformational leader who can take a fragmented infrastructure landscape and turn it into a unified, world-class operation. This role is more than keeping the lights on, it’s about building an infrastructure organization that moves with speed and purpose, embraces AI and automation, and gives our engineering teams the foundation they need to deliver great products. You’ll be unifying teams from multiple acquisitions, setting the operational tempo, and creating transparency that the entire leadership team can rely on. If you thrive in fast-paced, PE-backed environments and love building high-performing teams from the ground up, this is your role.”

This position has a starting salary range of $230,000 - $240,000 CAD per year. This is the range we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for the role at the time of posting. An employee’s pay within the range is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, education, qualifications, experience, performance, business or organizational needs, and geographic location.
